Renters moved in next door two years ago with two cats. Baby Z stomped in a shit pile in our yard on day one.

Cats dug up my garden, shit in my garden, only birds I hear any more are the crows and magpies.

Walked out of my house to grab something late night last spring, cat was at my front door. Scared the shit out of me.

Fight or flight kicked in.

I kicked out.

Cat flew about eight feet and was running before it hit the ground.

No more cat shit in the yard.

I should feel bad, but I most certainly do not.

I just want to have-a-heart them and send them home with a note saying next time I’ll take them to the pound. I’d probably get arrested though.

It annoys me that I seem to be incapable of mailing a letter. I put it in my car to mail doing other errands and drive by ten mailboxes and back home and it's still in my car. I could just walk down to the nearest mailbox but then I'd be forced to buy an ice cream from the place next to the mailbox.

I have the neighbors cat taking a fresh shit on my lawn every morning before it returns home. Fuck you, Kennedy.

Anyone have any methods of deterrent? I don't want to waste money on something if it ain't gonna work. Wife is going to talk to the owner, but I'd rather just end this myself if possible.

Only solutions I can see are:
1) Figure out a way to keep this fucking cat off my lawn
2) Tell the owner they'll need to come and pick up the shit every morning
3) Tell the owner to keep their damn cat inside

2 and 3 will be a hard sell. We're friendly with each other so I don't want to start shit. I guess we will see what happens - but damnit heading out to take the kids to the bus stop eveyr morning with the smell of fresh cat shit in the air is pissing me off.

Return the cat in a Have a heart trap and tell the owner you are trying to trap a raccoon or something and that they need to keep the cat out of your yard for awhile.

Been thinking about getting one for my neighbor’s dogs, though not because they shit on my lawn (they do, to be sure) but because I don’t want them getting into a fight with my one dog who always stays in our yard but thinks he’s a mean tough bastard and is prone to getting into it with strange dogs.
