One of my mom’s specialist Dr’s offices giving her a hard time for calling to cancel an appt later this week.
Totally not an essential appt- just a sleep study f/u. She asked if she could do a phone consultation and they would only do it if she had a secure email and webcam, which she does, but doesn’t know how to work on her own without my help and all visitors are banned from entering her building (old people apartment building)
She was upset bc they were being pushy that she couldn’t cancel the appt and had to come in so I called them to help explain and they were pushy to me too about canceling. wtf? she’s old and had pneumonia and was in the hospital 7 wks ago so is very high risk.
I mean she can’t be the only person not wanting to go into a hospital office for a non essential appt.
Old Goat and other docs- why can’t the Dr just do a 5 minute call with her about the appt?
why must it be a webcam? they wouldn’t do facetime

At that time there were two brothers at my elementary school whose family had just returned from living in Switzerland (IIRC that is. Could've been Austria or Germany). Their mom bought a lot of good (and novel for us) euro food from a specialty grocery store so we all wanted to hang at their house after school.

Just got info on open enrollment this year (our system runs July-June, so we have to re-enroll for health care benefits soon). They try to package it as if they surprisingly improved our benefits package. No mention that the HDHP deductible went up $500 and the HDHP out of pocket max went up by $4000. FUCK!
