I have this radio issue right now with my '07 xc70 and am going to work on it tmrw- from what I've read online and your experience I'm hoping I can fix it with the connectors under the seat (peaked under there and there's a lot going on under that passenger seat!)
just not wanting to spend hundreds for the radio when my commute it <10 minutes
a couple wks ago drove by Djongo's house when he was outside shoveling and stopped to chat and he was laughing at my bluetooth speaker solution in the car.

Good luck!!! Already put on about 1800 miles since my fix and still working great so I think I'm ok. The Volvo forums will definitely be your friend. Also, double check ALL your related fuses. Had also been rocking a little Bluetooth speaker for a while and was prepared to keep doing that if need be, so I totally feel ya. Haha.

It's been SSSSSOOOOOO nice to get the car audio working again. Giving me hope on keeping the ol' girl going another hundred thousand or so as I now have everything but the cats sorted out. Car's running so smooth again. Just did all new brakes, spark plugs, a motor mount, new coil packs, cleaned the MAF, new serpentine belt, changed all fluids, new engine and cabin air filters, new headlamp assemblies, and a few other misc items. Turning 170K this week and running like a clock. Been nice to revive the old car that only a month or so ago I thought might have been dead as it got towed to the shop in utter shame. Resurrected it's been!

Well, in all fairness the radio was the LAST item to get resolved. Gotta love when both your cars hit the same maintenance items all about the same time as both are getting pretty up there in miles. FML. On the plus side, at least they're both running superbly! No leaks and running/shifting great so I really should count my blessings as they both start to approach 200K with relatively little trouble overall.
