03-20-2013, 11:14 PM #51Hey d-bag - here's something for you to think about: maybe (just maybe) not everybody here has their little panties in a wad 24/7 and flies into a rage whenever somebody disagrees with them. Maybe these same mags don't take this place uber-seriously. Maybe this even includes the vast majority of the people who post here as opposed to you and like 20 other thin-skinned douchebags. Just something to think about. -JER

Skiing/Riding without my kids and wife.
The first beer once the fire is roaring and things are settled after the drive up north every Friday night.
The smell of grills during a tailgate.
A perfectly cooked steak or burger.
Watching my kids do something they love from afar.

Tried to find my thread about the simple pleasures in life, and this came up, so, I'm going with it.
English Muffin Pizzas. It was always a late night snack between my sister and me when we were starving. No microwaves involved. Just a slice of tomato, fork split my ass, a sprinkle of oregano, a piece of cheese and a drizzle from the big can of olive oil.
Into a 400 oven, and we were giggling on our snacks. Not much clean up besides the cutting board and a quick wipe of the knife.
Man, it still feels that way. That crunch, the cheese pulling away from you, trying to not burn your mouth, and knowing, and laughing, that you are going to bed with a smile and a full belly. That the folks didn't provide, but maybe taught you to be solid by your own.
Of course, the resources were sourced from them. That is a lost art of "stealing" without notice or any fudge. A little here, a little there.

some good stuff here guys --
my perspective...
Genuine joy in someone loved :
a parent ,
a partner ,
a great friend ,
a child...
animals - companion animals --
I'm a dog guy : 'Blue', my Chesapeake, my guardian, my companion ;
became a full-time spirit in 2016 :
'Blue' taught me more about love and patience in her last six months than I had learned in More than Fifty years
( yeah : I suck. ) .
cat people ;
horse people.
skiing. riding the snow --
for me, There is no other sensation even. comes. close.
As a boy, I might have felt it on a horse. or a bike.
someone above feels it on a surfboard
( I get that )
Dad felt it, Just walking in the woods ;
JB shows it(,) in the mountains. and with his Grandkids. And with his Family. and with his camera. Good Man.
for me, there is nothing like Clean, smooth turns - at speed.
Those are my three
( " the greatest is love. " )
find yours. tj
postscript - October 27, 2019. Have to add one : music.
for those of us born since - at least since WWII... who do ( feel the music ) There is a Soundtrack to our lives. . .
it Should probably be embarassing, but for forty years(,) I continue to go back to 'Hotel california' ( you can check-out anytime you like, and you can never leave ) and
' I'm alright' ( If it's nobody's business, it's everybody's game ) also resonates --

That's the key, but you have to know that you need to find it, and hold on to it. Otherwise, you are just wandering with no purpose or inspiration.
Cherish it. So many people are searching for something, but don't even understand that they have it in their experience already and fail to recognize the goodness in that they have in their memories, the thoughts they have in their own steps in life, and can't make the leap to cherishing those and trying to recreate that same feeling with others in their life on a daily basis. Like a woman. Like when you felt those jitters, that joy, that amazing spirit. Well, spend today recreating and re doing and actualizing that every day. Or kids, or anything, like work, when you were psyched. Recreate and do those things everyday.
Why not?
Oh, you just want to be bitter and have a heart attack. OK, next year we'll get all the powder days that your heart can handle. Oh, next year, oh next year. Oh it's coming tomorrow.
It's not, it's in your head already. Spread that stoke that you already have. Be it.
