    Favorite things in life?

    Just the little things, like:

First cut on construction paper, mmm
When you first put your foot in a shoe, and it feels like its hugging your foot.
Finally when you look down a ski run and all you see is powder.

    What are yours?

Sitting on the deck drinking a beer and smoking a bowl after a day of sawing.
    Strike one.
Walking around in sneakers after a day in work or ski boots.
When my daughter gives me a hug and says "I love you".

Removing ski boots and ski socks after a rager of a day.
The scents you smell while riding a motorcycle cross country.
The smell in Arizona when it first starts to rain.
Getting stoned after not getting stoned for a while.

Blasting through the trees in the pow on a storm day
The smiling look on my old dog's face when she's rompin' around
Throwing out a runner trying to take an extra base
Miles of deserted, buffed & tacky, winding singletrack
    When the heli lifts off

The sound of my children's Laughter.
    My wife's smile.
Freshly paved back roads on a motorcycle.
When the "Blue Blob" is stuck over LCC and you end up with a dump out of nowhere.

The silence of freshly fallen snow.

That little voice that says, "fuck it, just go" that split second before you jump to your feet on a big wave.

Chocolate chip cookies and a hot shower after a long day of snowboarding.

Jumping on the trampoline with my kids.
Swimming in the ocean with my kids.
    Skiing with my kids.
Completing a marathon and cracking a beer.
That coppery psycho killer taste in my mouth when I get a good idea (maybe I shouldn't have shared that?)
Knowing my wife actually loves me, despite all.

Hey d-bag - here's something for you to think about: maybe (just maybe) not everybody here has their little panties in a wad 24/7 and flies into a rage whenever somebody disagrees with them. Maybe these same mags don't take this place uber-seriously. Maybe this even includes the vast majority of the people who post here as opposed to you and like 20 other thin-skinned douchebags. Just something to think about. -JER

-Definitely making my kids laugh is number one. Live for that.
-The tug of a large, wild 'bow.
-A good steak with a nice cab.
-Being the only one skiing pow in the trees on a weekday at our local hill.
-Being awed by nature- you know when you see a plume of powder lit up in the alpenglow on a ridgeline or a half dozen geese fly right over your head while your wading in a river and you can hear the wing noise and you just think, "Holy fuck that was awesome."

On a control morning when we beat the neighbors to the first shot of the day, hearing that boom echo back across the valley and knowing its going to be a good day.

Looking at the freshly mowed lawn and cracking a cold beer.

The "gulp" a big fish makes as you see it sip a dry fly.

^^^This. Surprised 4Ply didn't mention recess or cookies & quiet time at school as a favorite.

This forum is for grownups 4Ply - do your parents know you've defeated NetNanny on your PC?
