How do you figure this? Touring in snowboard boots blows in comparison with a decent AT boot.

I've toured with a number of splitboarders and have no qualms about it whatsoever. The biggest thing I've noticed is that they tend to look at terrain a bit differently (i.e., often preferring to lose and regain elevation rather than deal with any sidehill while skinning). I can't recall a time when it was a real issue, though. One funny thing is that I unconsciously slowed my transitions to match their pace - it was a wakeup call when I began getting out with my skier buddies again!

Nothing against split-boarders at all, site is kinda funny though. Better than sob with snow shoes on and a board strapped to their back destroying the skin track.

At this point, a day at the resort should just be everyone beating the shit out of each other. Everyone's so fucking aggro these days, you should just be able to fight anyone based on what they're wearing for gear and if they're a local or tourist.

I hate splitboarders but I love getting on there skin track. Yes transitions are slower but it's all good if you skin fast.
