Oh that is a couple of memberberry inducing shots right there. I do miss Burnie. Been a while now for me, have to correct that one of these days... Thanks for posting that up!

Shames condition update today, groomers just started to soften up a little bit. Folks were telling me the morning was softer than the afternoon. WTF. Lying fuckers. Anyway, backcountry was apparently shit and will be until next recharge. Shouldn't be too long, I believe somethings coming in Thurs/Fri. Hope so, sounds like a mag may be coming to visit! OOOO Exciting news!

    * golf clap *

    Want.

I recall the tales of this place from Al and Gary, sitting around in Brad Z's place. The one with the little hydropower setup, right?

Not quite sure what this part mean Gary ^^^ but i am happy for you and give a hardy welcome to our corner of the woods to any visitor from near or far.

And here's a couple pics of my Sunday attempt at the Galleon Couloir. That's me pointing at the bottom to the couloir which is no more than 30 or so meters form where i am standing (or so said the GPS).

So in the saga of Galleon Couloir vs. Angle Parking, the score is now 4 - 0 for the couloir.

Always humbling when you lean to make a turn and just fall on the ground because you didn't realize you were bare moving in the first place. White outs can be humbling sometimes.

Great pics! Can't wait to make the trip to the middle of the Province! I've driven through many many times when I lived in the Yukon but only in Summer.... Stoked to say the least. Praying this refill comes as forecasted so I can make some soft turns with Gary.!

yeah Burnie hut, I worked on that hydro setup back in the day, not only is the power/ running water/ showers great, its way more sanitary than carrying milk pails of water and dipping as i understand it

Well, I was supposed to be attending a Jackson Hole summit but I suppose skiing some pretty sweet snow at home with a mag I'd never met before is ... well it's something anyway. Actually it was an absolute fucking blast and Gcooker is a super nice guy. He did bring his snowboarder buddy eric with him though.. fuck. Well that was offset somewhat by the fact that a couple of my pals randomly showed up at the skin up zone to join us. Pretty spectacular day all in all, and nice to be able to show a mag some of our goods. Managed to have good vis, good snow, and good stability. The vis crapped out just as we finished our final run down Fish and Chips.

I'm always amazed that the camera makes me look short. It may be because all the guys I ski with are gigantic. Gcooker for example is at least 6'9". Oh and the camera seems to always load 40 or 50 extra lbs on me. Gavin is skinny as a goddamned rail though.. so I guess there's that. Here we are looking across to Geronimo Bowl (and a bunch of other shit).

Gary is a true legend and an amazing Ambassador for Shames Mountain and Terrace ski culture. Pretty fun watching him make his way around the base area getting hellos and high fives from literally everyone. Also amazing to have a “friend from the internet” so eagerly show me and my buddy around, can’t thank you enough Gary.

Oh and obligatory, Shames sucks, it never snows, people are all mean and crowds so large sometimes you can’t park in the upper lot at 10am.

The amount it costs me annually to maintain this "perception" is staggering. I'm actually a whiney bitch asshole (refer to my recent "biggest ignore list on TGR" contest win). Oh yeah, it sucks here and the snow is heavy.

Skiing Shames with Gary is quite the experience. Glad you had fun Gcooker.

Oh and on another note, HBM is closed tomorrow because........ and I'll pause a little more here for dramatic effect............................................ .... every single lift is f*cked. I take no glee in saying this, but every lift is f*cked. Chair was closed this week for maintenance after 2 whole days of trouble free operation. Today the Panorama T shut down and then the Prairie T shut down.

T-bars good to go tomorrow at HBM but chair will have to wait until Sunday. Good thing we have the Trail to Town for some after school action with the kidos.

With your photo, I just figured out what HBM was. A trail to town is a fantastic idea.

The sign is a bit misleading in the sense that the 4.2 km lenght refers to just the Trail to Town while the Continuous Mtn Vertical of 3775 feet is measured from the highest lift accessed point all the way down to town.

But it's an awesome idea for sure.
