Good day yesterday in the Mcgregors, probed 92cms in sub-alpine meadows.

A few more details from a few days out locally (Terrace). Shames, 25cms at 3300 feet, 90 at 4000, was wet a few days ago, now covered by a high quality breakable or/and unbreakable crust, probably to ridgetop. Southern Nass Range; 30cms 3400 feet, 70 at 4500 feet, 130-140 just below mtn. top (5800 feet) north aspect. Pockets to 250cms wind blown pillows. Probing in high alpine revealed eggshell crust down 2cms, a m/f crust down 30ish, then consistent resistance to 105cms where interface with consolidated old wet grains to ground/ice was found.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were excellent at Hudson Bay. 60 - 90 cm base. Great early season conditions. Seemed like everyone and their dog was out on Sunday. Word to the wise; don't bother skiing below 1350 meters (roughly). Very nasty. Heading up early AM tomo if anyone is interested. O-zone bound.

Today the snow was still good, still great skiing but the sunny spring days are done and it was a whiteout getting back from chairside, hope the vis doesn't thro a cloud over your O-zone plan

checked out some shallow snowpack areas today in steep north aspect low alpine. on steep smooth rock, facets to ground. yikes. low alpine/high treeline snow is really nice, the eggshell crust has decomposed and skiing is really smooth and easy. not much of a window of good stuff before the all time greatest breakable crust the terrace area has ever seen emerges...positive side is it's an effective leg strength workout performing 1500 vertical feet of gorilla turns...five turns at time before the pain overwhelms and requires rest and recovery.
