Maggots, Here's yer chance to tell me exactly Where to go...

Wanna take a last spring break trip with the wife and kids, as one has just graduated college and will be heading off to her life.

    March 9-15

It's gotta be a resort on the East Coast, no flying on this trip.
Don't mind a drive as long as it's not much more than 10 hours or so from Va.
    Any other intel needed ?
    Where to go ??

    Go to hell

    That felt great

Other then that, I am clues less about the least coast. Head out west and I can give lots of recos.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

I feel the love there man. Can't go out west, the air fare kills my profit margin (even with some frequent flier miles).

Well it's about 3 weeks away, there's lots of snow in WVA, but that can change. ( that's almost a 5hour drive) I haven't done much east coast skiing above PA. We've always flown west for the bigger conditions.

Right. Nobody here knows what the conditions will be like. Just fly by the seat of your well pressed pants. It's the only answer, given your peramiters.

Hey anything to help a maggot or their offspring. Those dates are for the sons Va. Tech spring break. The daughter graduated a semester ahead of schedule in Dec. She has a job at Capital one lined up in July. Couldn't be happier.

Hey seriously let me know what your son is looking for. We have friends in the DC legal/political network. Might at least be able to create an introduction opportunity.

Jay is gonna exceed your 10 hour mark. But VT does seem the obvious choice. No better quality skiing can be had any closer to you. PA blows, NY is marginally better, but VT would be the best bet. Sugarbush/Mad River combo maybe? Stratton or K-mart if you are gapers?

to get the best snow, you have to be flexible, to get the best rate you have to plan ahead....

No one said Stowe? That is what Jeremy Jones would do....right?

    OK, so you're old.

You're actually believing that you're college senior daughter wants to spend her last spring break with her Dad?

Why don't you let her do what she wants?

I've often found the last minute deals are the best. Walkin's often can negosiate very good deals.

While sometimes true, this is not a good strategy when driving your whole family 10 hours from home...as OP will be doing.

But the better strategy is to book a nonrefundable $400/night condo for five days and then find out it's raining the day before you leave?
