You've definitely heard him quite a bit you just didn't know it, he was a super low-profile guy but played with a lot of people.

Those ^ were the first Quine pieces I heard.
Then in the 80s he did some other crazy interesting shit with Jody Harris and Fred Maher.

So the story is Jambase asked 50 musicians to play their favorite Dead tune and tell a little story. Anders Osborne went first, he asked Luther Dickinson to accompany him. Thus, "Songs Of Their Own #1" I love Anders and Luther is an amazing guitarist.

That whole album is just genius and I don't use the word lightly. Just an amazing piece of work and I really felt like something was gaining speed and going like seriously Bob Marley big. Like Global. But nah. He's never really gotten back there so far, for me at least.

I'd have to say Sideways is my favorite song on the album but I love them all.

Just such a simple song, kinda reminds me of Redemption Song for some reason. I don't know why I feel some sort of Marley-Cope connection, they have nothing in common. But I do.

It's older than that man. Like 12 years maybe? hold on.

    edit: 2004

I remember talking with Tipp on here about it back when we first heard it, probably 2006 or so. It reached both of us fo rsure.

edit edit: ha, I started a thread: Citizen Motherfucking Cope and I was going on about the stupid Marley shit even then! yeesh.
