FINALLY! Relocated this obscure jam that I've had randomly pop back up in my head and stuck there for weeks now. Came out like 7 years ago and I couldn't freaking remember who sang it or the name of the song. Was listening to random indie sampler albums I had and bingo! Band is Blue Hawaii from Montreal. Total earworm of a song:

"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy

Doubtful. There's likely a large cross section we agree on. Truth is my taste in music covers a way, way, way, way, WAY freaking larger spectrum than most people. I listen to everything from classical and jazz to heavy metal and gangsta rap and everything in between. My tastes are extraordinary eclectic. My records aren't organized, and first one in front of me on my desk right now is Grimes' "Art Angels." The one behind is Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue." Behind that? Records by Peter Gabriel, then David Bowie, then Chicago, Jack White, Fleet Foxes, the Beatles, the Lumineers, the Decemberists, America, Run the Jewels, and it just gets weirder from there. Yeah, just TRY and pin down my taste. I'm all over the map. lol

I didn't mean to suggest that our tastes wouldn't intersect anywhere (Kind of Blue is a desert island disc for me). Just that there is wide divergence in some places.

Hozier. Jackie and Wilson. Because of this song I have tried to like Hozier but just can’t. However this is a cool song with a brilliant chorus.

Hendrix covers from an old tribute cassette i had, circa 1993: Stone Free. Some cool covers in there that I had forgotten about.
Mike McCready, Jeff Ament, Chris Cornell, and Matt Cameron.
PM Dawn
JHC, even the Spin Doctors sound hot on this tribute.Last edited by bluespark; 08-28-2019 at 10:44 PM.

And now for something completely different. Wait for the second verse before giving up.

as for instance Jackson Browne.
But "Fountain of Sorrow" my ass, motherfucker,
I hope you wind up in the ground".

Not something I would listen to very often, but glad you felt comfortable enough to share that touching song with the group. Is everything alright at home?
