This is my favorite orchestra playing to an empty audience and trying to give solace to the world.
Their last performance for who know's when?

There is an amazing interview with Terry Gross and the conductor on Fresh Air.

I've seen this fantastic group of people for nearly 2 decades, 4 times a year. I've gotten to know some of the musicians personally. I absolutely love them all.

A wonderful ode to the times. Please enjoy it as much as I do. It's a full ride for free, and they are out of work too.

Absolutely goes down as one of the best displays of humanity. The 5th is so much more that DUN DUN DUN DUN. And the 6th is my favorite almost besides the 3rd.

I desperately urge you to close the lights, maybe a candle, grab the kids or your stuffed or not animal, and take a little ride into our lives past and present.

This is a moment you will not regret.

The hardest moment for the orchestra was not the acoustics, they practice and balance for empty; it's just a different sound setup for a short time. Warm bodies very much change the music. It is a two way street.

It was the lack of having that massive cloud of energy they gave not bouncing back after they finished. It was disturbing to them, understandably. Never happened before.

Now, take solace that very feeling might come to you in these times of isolation, but don't stop creating beauty. It will bounce back.

Ha! Too much. Same wavelength. Didn't see your post, SJ.
Did you catch the music piece in the NYT Magazine from last Sunday?
