There's a Coastside Mountain Bikers Strava & Facebook group for people around HMB/Pacifica. The founder of the Facebook version decided to make it open, so a bunch of hikers & dog walkers joined it for some reason. When one of my buddies posted a GoPro vid of him hauling ass down the local (very intermediate) trail, the founder deleted it because he said "it makes bikers look bad" and suggested that he should post videos like another guy in it (who's a crap rider but GoPros everything including himself riding his Bronson on flat paved trails). Fucking Bay Area...

The same people who concluded 3 years ago that plus bikes were the be-all-end-all now realize they are pretty much for "intermediate weekend warrior types who are over 40 or very novice riders who are passionate about their newfound love of MTBing"
And right on cue in the comments a bunch of riders extolling the benefits of the next big thing, 26 plus!

27.5+ steel hardtails are rad. People who ride them here (except maybe me, but I been kinda rad lately) do not fit their stereotype.

Hahaha. Yup, MountainBike Enthusiasts of Utah similarly makes me want to stab spokes in my eyes.
The internet has properly fucked up mountainbiking.
Sometimes I ponder that UC was right. “Growing the sport” might not have been the best course of action.

If you really want to be one of the cool kids over there, make sure to list out your bike quiver in your signature.

So glad the bike industry could drop the fun, quick, strong and popular 26" wheel size in favor of aids-cancer plus size tires, only to abandon them in two years because they are FUCKING STUPID.
