There's a Coastside Mountain Bikers Strava & Facebook group for people around HMB/Pacifica. The founder of the Facebook version decided to make it open, so a bunch of hikers & dog walkers joined it for some reason. When one of my buddies posted a GoPro vid of him hauling ass down the local (very intermediate) trail, the founder deleted it because he said "it makes bikers look bad" and suggested that he should post videos like another guy in it (who's a crap rider but GoPros everything including himself riding his Bronson on flat paved trails). Fucking Bay Area...

Do yourself a favor and drop out right now. That group and 303 Trail Monitor will drive you insane if it hasn’t already. Nothing good can possibly come out of it. Nothing.

Did that a couple years ago. Got tired of hearing that Green Mountain was "gtg" over and over and over and over. So fucking annoying.

Haha. I guess I'm a glutton for this shit. I also keep the few FB friends I have who are on the other side of the political isle. Makes me feel like I'm the open minded one, but really it's just unnerving to hear how insane they've become.....

The same people who concluded 3 years ago that plus bikes were the be-all-end-all now realize they are pretty much for "intermediate weekend warrior types who are over 40 or very novice riders who are passionate about their newfound love of MTBing"

And right on cue in the comments a bunch of riders extolling the benefits of the next big thing, 26 plus!

Wow, I had no idea that 27.5+ was going to be just another flash in the pan scam from the bike industry!

Can everybody go back to 26" now please?

27.5+ steel hardtails are rad. People who ride them here (except maybe me, but I been kinda rad lately) do not fit their stereotype.

My 27.5+ steel hardtail is the go to bike for slippery, fall trail conditions. Grip for days.

Hahaha. Yup, MountainBike Enthusiasts of Utah similarly makes me want to stab spokes in my eyes.
The internet has properly fucked up mountainbiking.
Sometimes I ponder that UC was right. “Growing the sport” might not have been the best course of action.

The "Enthusiasts" site has singlehandedly ruined mountain biking in the Wasatch.

Seriously though, it’s the best place to get used gear online.

Especially if you're unfamiliar with Pinkbike. Or Craigslist. Or Facebook. Or TGR. Or friends.

Ha, that’s what I was going to say. I haven’t used the MTBR classifieds in years.

Yep. This whole "plus bikes are already dead" thing is really frustrating. I have a quiver of bikes and this is the one that keeps coming out to play for a variety of reasons.

If you really want to be one of the cool kids over there, make sure to list out your bike quiver in your signature.

Unless the complete list is: 2013 Salsa Beargrease.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

So glad the bike industry could drop the fun, quick, strong and popular 26" wheel size in favor of aids-cancer plus size tires, only to abandon them in two years because they are FUCKING STUPID.
