Thread: RIP Chris Kyle

Did he get any actual rewards for that? I think that point has been fixated on mostly by civilians, although I just heard about the dude this morning, so what do I know.
You can still call it bloodthirsy, but I think most of the pride these guys feel is more related to being proficient at skills, such as the farthest kill, not simply the most.__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________

That's too bad. Ironically it sounded like he was trying to help the guy who killed him with mental problems he might have got in the military. I'm sure this was already mentioned but hard to bother reading all the responses. Chris Kyle sounded like a living legend with more than 150 confirmed kills as a sniper. He definately saved tons of lives on our side.

So did Leroy turn down the sex with the men or just the money?
I look forward to his book.
On topic - this incident should hopefully get some of the window-lickers reassessing the theory of "therapeutic shooting of guns" for someone suffering from PTSD.

It seemed odd at the time, but I now understand why you took issue when I said this, I was describing you and it made you uncomfortable.
it's all young and fun and skiing and then one day you login and it's relationship advice, gomer glacier tours and geezers.

You have no idea man. My best friends brother died (ODed) after he got back after being in the service. He served in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghani (like 5 or 6 tours) think helping people who have PTSD from protecting our country you are heartless. I could tell you the rest of the story but you wouldn't believe me and he got takin for his money and his life.

I can't believe that some are calling people who make your life safe out. You are truly scumbags. Believe it or not, my ex-wifes husband is a retired Marine. Me and the old lady never got along to good and I wanted out. I REALLY respect the guy even though they both cheated on the people they were married to. Nobody was happy. But what is cool is that the guy retired from the marines and did crazy work in Iraq for companies (not to mention probably everywhere you can think of in the past 25+ years). He was making crazy money because of his classied clearance and his experience.
Hint: I think my ex wanted $15-20K a month but he made my life much more easy. Honestly.... We were in the same house married for years and I never (well maybe a couple times) slept on anything but the couch even though I bought EVERYTHING. I wanted to get tid of her for hundreds of reasons and even broke up with her before I knew she was prego.
/rant but hope to inspire those who need to do the same thing.Last edited by Crass3000; 02-05-2013 at 12:22 AM.

Wow what the fuck guys
woulda put it in polyasshat if I knew that it would get all cunted up
This guy was an American hero, plain and simple. Bragging about his kills?? In his own words, "when people say 'how many people have you killed?' My standard response is 'Does the answer make me less, or more, of a man?' The number is not important to me. I only wish I had killed more. Not for bragging rights, but because I believe the world is a better place without savages out there taking American lives. Everyone I shot in Iraq was trying to harm Americans of Iraqis loyal to the new government"
Or dissing him because he wrote a book. "As this book goes to print, I'm still a bit uncomfortable with the idea of publishing my life story. 1st of all, I've always thought that if you want to know what life as a SEAL is like, you should go get your own trident...Second of all, and more importantly, who cares about my life? I'm no different than anyone else. I happen to have been in some pretty bad-ass situations. People have told me it's interesting. I dont see it. Other people are talking about writing a book about my life, or about some of the things I've done. I find it strange, but I also feel like its my life and my story, and I guess I better be the one to get it on paper the way it actually happened. Also, there are a lot of people who deserve credit, and if I dont write the story, they may be overlooked. I dont like the idea of that at all. My boys deserve to be praised more than I do."
Jeeze, whoever thought of a decorated soldier writing a BOOK about his experiences??? Anybody read Paul Fussell? How about EB Sledge? How about Louis Zamperini's experiences in WWII? No? Marcus Luttrell? How about Michael Durants book about his experiences in Somalia??
The bottom line is that all those guys, as well as Chief Kyle, were all brave, selfless Americans put in extraordinary situations, where, in the name of Patriotism and brotherhood, they distinguished themselves under hostile fire with bravery and valor. Chief Kyle didnt just kill people from 500 yards away, btw. He kicked doors in, with Marines, in the battle for Fallujah.
Anyhow, go back to polyass hat to argue about war or morality or whatever. I just want to honor a great American here.

With all the stuff that's going on with school shootings, gun control and so on, a guy who made his living shooting people gets shot to death, and you're surprised that people would have varying opinions on it? Really?

Oh, I see your knowledge of the psychology of PTSD is profound indeed. Tell me, what do you think of the efficacy of exposure therapy and what is the proper environment to engage in such with someone with PTSD? Do you think it shows more or less promise than other treatments such as EMDR? Tell me, how is PTSD similar to substance abuse or child molestation? I would love to hear your thoughts on how treatments for those problems can be used to address PTSD.
You guys are fucking ignorant, and your words and ideas come out of that.
Dude, you give ice way too much credit. He's not that complex. His posts arent driven by any ideology or ability or inability to successfully argue such. He's just a sad washed up old man whos never done anything with his life and has like 24000 posts of snarky thoughtless drivel to try and make himself feel better.
Someone needs a hug.
What do you do for a living Benny? I'm guessing its something that doesn't help anyone, ever except to make rich people richer. Tell me, what have you done to make the world a better place? Real easy to cast stones from the anonymity of the internet. Hold everyone to that perfect standard but yourself. Let me guess, you're going to respond by deflecting my question. How fucking interesting.
You guys are fucking ridiculous. You preach that you don't like war, but you celebrate it when people with different ideologies than you are murdered. You take more joy out of this guys death than he got out of the deaths of the people he killed, I can promise you that. You guys are fucking weak and lacking in moral fiber.Last edited by leroy jenkins; 02-05-2013 at 08:08 AM.

What about Roal Dhal or Hemingway? Bloodthirsy monsters no doubt.
All the cunts in this thread are demonstrating to me, is a lack of ability to empathize with fellow human beings, which is the defining trait that characterizes shitty ass scumbag people. Truth is, people like benny tip and ice might whine about violence being so abhorrent but they are closer to the mindset of the perpetrators of mindless violence than they would like to admit. I bet if I follow any of you cunts around for a few weeks I'll see you do plenty of fucked up shit to other people, but it will be petty things you know you can get away with because your restraint in dealing with people comes not from a place of empathy and not wanting to hurt others, but from a respect for the consequences of doing things that are not socially acceptable. You guys act from a place of judgement and butthurt, strip away societal norms and consequences and you guys would start acting like animals.__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________________

Irony deficiency is a common ailment on TGR. See The Onion irony deficiency test, above.
Leroy, most, maybe all, of the posts to which you take offense are about the irony of a sniper -- who professed to have no regrets about killing 155 people from hundreds of yards away and, indeed, bragged about (and fabricated stuff to make it more sensational) -- getting gunned down. Get it now?
