Met a guy today who “tinkers” w cars. Current project is a 1950 studebaker w suicidecrear doors. Looks stock outside but it’s a Chevy truck frame, 4wd and twin turbo 512 cc big block w dual turbos putting out 1150 hp on the dynamo. He figures it’ll run 9 secs in a 1/4 mile and zero to 60 in around 3.5 when he gets to drive it in the spring.

Oh shit, my son is going to flip when he finds out there’s a 911. He got the Ferrari F-40 and put it together before unwrapping the rest of the presents. Love the interchangeable wheels, spoiler and trim

Also, you cant see it that well, but she thought it would be good to use both types of wheels on the McLaren, so the fronts are 5 spoke while the rears are 10 spoke. I started to explain why she shouldn't make a mclaren look like a late 90s civic si spare parts build, but realized she didnt give a shit so I let her enjoy it.

Ha! He’s still five so maybe we’ll get him a log-in next year for his birthday.

He’s not biased or anything though. These are currently taking up space on the other end of the table.

The older P cars, Quattro and Saab are mine from when I was his age. He loves those the most.

Anybody a, now former, Autoweek reader? I found this in the gym, and it's the last issue! I used to subscribe to this thing back when it was in newspaper form (like Rolling Stone in the day). Another paper magazine bites the dust. Long history, goes back to 1958. Used to lust over the street and race car classifieds in the back, and it was the only place for domestic and international race coverage. I guess I'm to blame, because I lost interest when I came to the conclusion I could never afford the habit, and even F1 became too corporate and impersonal for my tastes.

The final cover explains that helmet in their logo all these years.

    Oh well, RIP.

...and true to its roots, it wouldn't start the next day, Lucas Electronis at its typical best (worst).

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

I wish I had the pics to show of the many RX-7s this kid I grew up with had to post in its honor of this day. For some reason he got a new, used, RX-7 just about every year from his dad who did business out of the country.

    Each one was called “Luscious-_____”

Luscious-Brown followed by Luscious-Orange... down the line. Fun cars though.
