Put a new suspension in it and took it out for a spin after the alignment today. Hard to not to just head north for upstate ny in search of uc. Damn that is one fine automobile.

In other news ; test drive # 2 in the tr6 went well:

Did the wires just up and decide that they don't like each other anymore?

Well, the harness hasn't started smoking and burning yet, so that's good.

I think if the Brits just built the engines and chassis and then sent the cars to another country to be wired, we'd be talking about these old British cars in a different way.

It's almost like they got electricity much, much later than the rest of the developed world and have been playing catch up ever since.

My 1960 Willys CJ5 had a somewhat less than robust electrical system. I solved it by replacing everything one wire at a time then shrink wrapped everything. A case of beer and a bag of weed got 'er done. Most MG's and Triumphs could benefit from a similar treatment.

Haha. It's like each country has it's achilles heel. With Italians its stuff that latches or toggles or needs to be held on with a fastener. Fortunately for the Italians and unfortunately for the Brits, you can drive without a fully functional door latch, but not a gimpy wiring harness.

I've kinda settled in on owning Japanese cars for daily drivers after having owned many other brands. While somewhat uninspiring performance wise and having generally goofy styling they seem to involve the least amount of bullshit mechanically.

Car related shit that annoys you. 1) American arms of foreign car manufacturers. 2) Car manufacturers that rely on nostalgia and nameplates.

Saw this in the lot today. Wish I talked to the owner, or looked underneath it. Chassis is a ‘64(?) Dodge Dart. Roof box is solid mounted to it. Interior is a BMW e90. Curious if the whole car is actually a BMW and just body swapped the Dart.

It looks like the previous owner of the Dart died in a hail of gunfire.

Cool vehicle though, if you ever find out more, post up.
