Speaking of lesser known, and possibly lesser loved, off-roady four doors; check out this bad ass whip I just saw in traffic. My boy has a matchbox one of these, I didn’t even think we got them in the US.

Fuck yeah. I think a few made it over here. Twice I've looped back through small swiss towns to check one out that's parked on the street or in someone's driveway.

Somewhere, one of my friends is holding a vhs as blackmail with a whole bunch of dumb shit we did on it in high school. One of which was jumping a Justy over some train tracks to the point that all 4 wheels were at least 5’ off the ground, time stopped, and frames were bent.

    Tough car.

    That’s awesome.

I hope the RS had the kids and a dog in back next to the groceries too.

Lulz. “What sort of kombi is that?!?!?”

Reminds me of driving this rental 5 wagon on down the Romantic road. Nobody but me thought it was romantic. The passengers were terrified. Saved money renting a stick. Half the giddyup of whatever that thing was. What sort of kombi is that? What are those?!?!!! Grosse fah veh motor? (W-10?) Auto Union?

“James, is it really necessary to drive quite so faaast?

    More often the you’d think.”

God that chick was smoking. I forget the name but faces never leave me.

Pulled into the lane beside him and gave him a thumbs up, thing was sweet and must be an import - euro right down to the weird dong hitch. Looked like homeboy used it but it was cherry as fuck though. Showed the boy the pic when I got home and he ran and grabbed the matchbox, “you mean you saw this!?!”

Let’s hope I have a few years before he finds this thread/place.

Tried in vain to get my 22yro kid to buy in to getting wagon or a truck, trade in the Golf R he's put 75K on in 4 yrs for something practical for the next 3-4yrs and see how the car market shakes out.

While I don’t want to blaspheme, the love of the wagon is due in large part to its practicality and usefulness for family types. I think he made a fine choice for a 22yo, which he can upgrade to an RS6 avant when the time comes

    Bwah!

An old friend from a lifetime ago is running something called the Crown Rally in their new C8 these past two weeks from Chicago to Charlotte. Following along on IG has been fun. Lots of cool rides and an RS6Avant to boot.

No clue about the rally itself aside from what I’ve seen on her posts and their website but it looks like a good time.

Very cool! I like the color, haven’t seen that one before.

If I’m offered a choice though, I think I’d still go with the very 1990s teal paint job.
