If it's a Solstice GXP then it's no slouch performance-wise. Nothing mind-blowing either, but would be fun to drive. Coupes like that one (with removable top) were produced for the '09 and '10 model years. A standard Solstice is nothing to write home about in the power department.

I want to dislike that new C7(?) but I can't. Hope for continued success there Chevy.
Come on! At first I was like this is a horrible idea but that magnesium bridge is sexy as fuck! And they got the roof right this time too.
Targas say: I'm really a hardtop guy but I also really like Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit. And who doesn't like the fucking Bandit?!?
Fuck that guy. Fuck him in his fucking face.
Not going to lie, I like that hardtop better than the roadster. Not sure either are worth the price though given the competition.I still call it The Jake.

My '67 from about 15 yrs ago.. bought her off the Chevy showroom floor, where she sat after her total frame off resto.. done by a local auto parts store owner (he owned multiple stores).. He had always wanted to take a really nice Vette and make her perfect.. So he searched until he found this numbers matching car with tank sticker and went to work.. He bought her for $29k.. then put $45k into her.. the receipt file was about 6" thick.. Once he finally finished her he couldn't bring himself to drive her.. so the Chevy dealer proudly displayed her... basically a brand new '67.
I had just moved back there, from the PNW, as a bunch of my old college buddies had ended up there and the partying was outstanding.. I was visiting a buddy one day who happened to do loan approval for that Chevy dealer.. when I first saw her.. God she was fkn stunning.. Goodwood Green (not black or red as all Vettes end up, but original Goodwood green) perfect paint.. with saddle interior and top.. every door, panel, hood fit precisely.. I instantly fell in love.. stood there wanting to talk to a salesman about her but they just looked at me and walked past, short answers and blew me off.. must have been a 1/2 doz or so just ignored the fk outta me.. Then, much to my surprise, an old high school classmate walks by.. after the hellos and quick catching up.. he just happens to be the Vette specialist for the dealership and basically knew everything about this car.. He told me what the guy wanted for her.. I told him to find out what the guys bottom number was.. He did and I bought her.
327 350 horse.. not the big block, but super easy to keep tuned.. super easy to drive.. silky clutch/shifter and still could make them chirp in 2nd anytime I wanted.. tons of frikkin power in a 3k lb glass car (actually I couldn't even imagine what a big block must be like).. bolt ons.. pwr windows.. The Black Hills back roads were my personal play ground.. I took the bias plys off and put radials on.. She was my narcotic addiction..
I had her for about 4 yrs.. I had met a flight nurse who became Mrs BN.. moved back to the PNW cuz I missed the steelhead fishing and Cascadia.. she never asked me to sell her.. but I did.. I didn't want to move her out here.. where it rains 8 months out of the yr and have her just sit in the garage.. Sold her to a dude from AZ in 3 days for more than I had paid for her.. Really missed her for yrs, but I knew it was the right thing to do...

That is a gorgeous car. The '64 - '67 bodies were the best, and yours in the best color scheme to boot. You are one lucky man.
As to how it would've been with the big block? Nose heavy and overpowered. The smallblocks were reasonably well balanced, the big blocks were for brutes who didn't care about handling....Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain...

Ok car style geeks. I bought this car for commuting because, a) it gets 40 mpg and b) all the reviews said it's by far the most fun to drive in it's class. I'm getting about 38 or so and the handling is amazing. But when I look at it I go between, "Ya, that's a good looking little car". To, "That is a funny looking little car." I'd be interested to see what people who are into this think. It's a 2014 Mazda3 (2.0/155HP/6speed).

I vote funny looking. Not a fan of the 5-door 3 at all.
The 6 sedan is much better looking. But hey, you didn't buy it for looks, right?...Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain...

The front end of the new Mazdas seems big for the rest of the car and I'm not a fan of the body line that swoops over the front fenders and down into the front doors. The Audi S5 kind of has the same thing albeit without the hard angles and on a much smaller scale. Read only good things about the Mazda 3.

It isn't just Mazda. European pedestrian impact regs have had a big impact on vehicle design in recent years.

Kind of wish I went with the 2.5 185hp, but it was quite a bit more $$. I took this fly-fishing a couple weeks ago and had to go down into a steep, winding canyon. I was blown away by the handling. Really tight and responsive. More room in the captain's seat than my '01 Tundra- actually, way more. And plenty of room with the rear seats down for gear.
But ya, that front end...

Mazda 3: I dig it. It is a significant upgrade from that stupid smiling face design language they employed for so many years. Reminds me of a shooting brake, despite having four doors.
