Spied this new Ferrari in rally gear yesterday and then, an hour later, pulled alongside a db11 with the temp plate still on it. Which one costs more?

*ahem* flat six. The best sounding engine ever made.

Bmills, I luv 6's of any configuration, though the inline 6 is my favorite, but IMO a properly tuned exhaust on a v8 outsings the flat 6.

Once the photo uploader is fixed I can properly amend this post.

I don't necessarily disagree with anything you said; however, I use last years Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta as confirmation of my theory that the flat six is the prettiest sounding engine in existence.

The V8s of the Corvettes sounded like bare, murderous rage. Just fucking savage. Women got pregnant listening to them.

The noise the 911 and 912 P-cars made chasing each other up that track though was pure music. Not harsh, high revving, and sounded like noise converted to speed in its most simple form.

I perhaps prefer the ripping canvas sound.

Now you got me thinking and I really miss the sound my naturally aspirated inline 6 in my old e90 330 made. That thing idled low and sweet and dropped panties when running WFO.

Great engine. The older, not for America, 323i was a great little engine too. Google the M1 procar sound. The Porsche flat 6 is awesome but I think it took 30+ yrs of engineering to make it so. The Jap I6's, the BMW I6's and the Jag I6, simple to design and build and you didn't bust up your knuckles working on them.

FS: 2006 FORD GT Four Optioned. 3100 miles. Not mine. Car is show quality. Right now, veh. is equipped with upgraded suspension, exhaust and supercharger which brings original 550bhp up to 700bhp at rear axle. All original parts that have been changed out for upgrades are available and have very low mileage.
There are pics of the veh. somewhere in this thread.

If you know anyone interested I can make an introduction.

I’m still right, but I’d totally sleep with that engine on the first date.

If I’m going V10, it’s the R8’s cousin, the Carerra GT.

The Carrera GT is probably the most amazing thing to come from Porsche for civilian consumption.

Great call, and you're not wrong, but if I'M going with the V10, I'm gonna channel my inner-Booner with its much chubbier sister, the Audi S8 sedan. Awesome for smooooooth highway pulls and doesn't get the popo's attention nearly as much. An interstate cruiser more than anything as I wouldn't want to track it and it's not what I'd call "fast", but as I start to age and start to really find the appeal in Devilles/Crown Vics/Grand Marquis/Town Cars, it checks a lot of boxes for realistic daily use.

My brother owns the V10 S8 and it really is a magnificent car. Cheap used and it's now proven (for him) to be surprisingly reliable. EXCELLENT motor. 0-60 in it feels a bit "meh" but 60 to infinity is a great feeling. My old CTS-V was definitely quicker down low (pre-supercharged models), but I think the S8 would blow the doors off the CTS past 100. Totally made for Autobahn cruisin'. I love it.

It just occurred to me that I’ve never seen an LFA in the wild.

I see all kinds of exotics and unreal vintage cars daily. Shit, on my way to the office on Tuesday I saw a Huayra and a Gullwing SL within 10 minutes of each other, but I’ve never seen an LFA, much less heard that wonderful engine note in person.

    Weird.
