I would do a 88-89. My mechanic said they are bulletproof proof.

Quick check on BaT and that 170k price tag is not out of line. Thing is mint.

This guy just brought in this 996 Turbo with 10k on the clock.

Cool day to stop into the shop.

Holy shit this may be the best looking 911R I’ve ever seen. (Yes, houndstooth too) got caught with my mouth wide open and drooling to boot.

Pulled up at a stop light next to a totally cherry Lincoln continental Mark 6 signature series in powder blue with the navy roof yesterday. I was floored. The older couple waved politely when they saw me blankly staring mouth agape. I could barely wave back, briefly stupified by it's magnificence.
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
    Cletus: Duly noted.

That color combo would make it a 1983 “Emilio Pucci Edition”.

The true names for those colors are Dark Blue Cambria on the cloth top and Blue Flannel Mist on the body.

so, in hindsight, was the ultralow MSRP of that one just a profitable bone thrown to dealerships hurting from Porsche sales shitting the bed a couple years before?

Local guy used to regularly bring his RS America to autocross. White exterior, black interior, BBS LMs, and an exhaust. Super clean. One of my favorites at the time.

I traded an RS America for an A6 wagon when my first daughter was born.

Yeah, I remember that from a comment you posted a while back. Cool cars.

I've spent the last half hour trying to find a picture of the guy's car because it was so clean. The regional SCCA chapter was ahead of the curve with taking and posting pictures online circa 2000 but it looks like they're long gone. Managed to find him on Rennlist but he hasn't been active in years. The wheels were Kinesis K20s; not BBS LMs. Kinesis is another that's long gone.

Some of the delete options -- like the cloth strap door handles -- were lightness-signalling more than anything, but I loved it all. It had a go-cart suspension and not much sound insulation. Not very civilized, but a really fun car.
