Doesn't get any better than that. Old school! The past several years I have found some picky bastards, mostly in lakes, that won't go for anything else than an Adams.

Got out today in northwest NC. The trout were tiny and few, but the hike and scenery made up for the lack of fish. Click image for larger version.

Hit the Delayed Harvest section of Wilson Creek today. I've kayaked the gorge section of this creek many times, but never fished it. (have fished the wild upper reaches)
Didn't move over 200 yards for something like 6 hours... Big, Ugly and yellow dries were most popular today. Mostly browns, a few brookies and rainbow. Good day. Again solo fishing is bad for pics...

Spent the weekend back home jetting around the Yuba/Sac with some of my pro staff dudes trying out 14' stuff.

Throwing a bit of line, with a 4 weight spey....

One of the Skagit Masters tossing darts

Then it was on to Stripers, rods were bent

    Fish were gripped

Yours truly with an average fish for the day

Finished up with going a little overboard on local brews

All in all a solid weekend of product testing. Back in ID, hopefully to scratch out the remnants of the Salmon flies.

You'll find some big bug action Snapt. You may have to go a tad smaller and more natural and keep at least one fly under buy you'll find some action. The Hank isn't the only river with a salmon fly hatch. The Fall is on its way down, although it may get another flush if temps head north in a big way. Didnt check h2o temp but It usually gets a great big bug hatch. Haven't heard word as to them coming off. Many years the water is pretty dirty during the hatch. This yr could be a good yr.

Very nice. Are they ever gonna shut down generation this year? I think I got out there the last afternoon they didn't generate and that was at least 3 weeks ago.

South Holston Lake is out of its bounds. You are right, they ran for about 3 weeks, shut down for about 5 hours night before last, and cranked back up. No signs of letting up. One of my clients owns a boat dock on the lake and his parking lot is under water. I keep checking the water levels, and they are barely maintaing what they have running 24/7. If they stop, they lose ground.

    Watauga is even worse.

Good for jets and drifters, bad for wading access.

Nice color on that piggy bow, very pronounced stripe

Beaverhead, most exciting moment of the day. Good sized bow on a small Salmon egg. Buddy caught it but cameraman privileges gave me a pic as well

Been high water and flooding in North VT, so pond fishing has been the target recently.

SFB awesome volunteer work, if I am able to get away from the desk I would be more than happy to lend my boat and meager rowing skills for the cause.
