Next is a Rolex Batman, but they’re unobtamium right now. A few years ago I had the chance to pick one up at a nice discount and I passed. I regret that.

I have a couple of Breitlings, with the Superocean Heritage II being the other after the Aerospace. It's on the rubber strap now as it looks too formal on the metal band,

I have a SS GMT II (all black, would love a batman but my dealer wants $4k more for the two tone bezel ), but it does not do well in its winder. Will go for about 2-3 weeks then lose power, even after giving it a good wind first. Don't know if it's the winder isn't aggressive enough, or the watch just wants more action. PITA to have to set all the hands whenever you want to wear it. Massive first world problem.

My Bud gave up his Deepsea recently, expecting the real estate market to tank in Houston, and he's a first time buyer. He got this https://www.jomashop.com/tissot-seas...071704100.html, and for the money at just over $500, it looks really nice

Yeah, Superoceans are pretty cool watches. I usually keep mine on the rubber strap as well. I have the metal bracelet but it's a little blingy for me. When's the last time a watchmaker took a look at your GMT? They really shouldn't need too much movement to wind them.

actually an Omega Speedy triple cal day/date. The real treasures are the c. 1950's Tudors. Oysterdate 34's. Rolex movements, red/black date wheel. There was a period where Tudor was Rolex's second brand and made in the same plant. These are identical (movements, cases, dials) to the same model Rolex, except for the logo. I might have added some vintage Rolex bracelets at some point.

Fuck man. That brings back high school memories.

Jock straps are the most uncomfortable underwear ever invented.

I hope kids today have some kind of boxer brief with a pouch.

Don't ever hold back, I can take it.

I think the kids just wear tight lycra stuff now. And schools have gotten a lot stricter about football players forcing nerds to wear undergarments on their head in gym class.

researching this article on jockstrap history we found two different inventors of the jock strap, the first being Parvo Nakacheker of Finland.

This gentleman, apparently an athlete from Finland, claims to have done much of the pioneer work in developing the original athletic supporter and "devoted much time to the study of pure anatomy and the special demands of such an item."

The second and seemingly most likely jockstrap origin being the BIKE Web Company; who in 1874 invented the athletic supporter, quickly becoming known as the" BIKE Jockey Strap." Due to the fact that it was designed originally to support and protect the genitals of the bicycle jockeys who rode the cobbled streets of Boston at that time, over the years it has come to be known more commonly as the jockstrap.

Interestingly, Bike's first jockstrap was the now famous Bike #10 Jockstrap but a few years later, another company called Flarico created their jockstrap and called it the F110 Jockstrap.

Laying claim to the first hard cup supporter is Canadian company Guelph Elastic Hosiery from Guelph, Ontario. Although founded by Joe Cartledge, it was one of his two sons, Jack who being a "jock" developed the hard cup supporter and filed a patent for it in 1927.

Interestingly, one version of the jockstrap, sold in 1900 was the Heidelberg Electric Belt, a sort of low-voltage jockstrap claiming to be a cure for impotence, kidney disorders, insomnia, and many other complaints
