    Hellbent touring plug removal

How do you take the plugs out of the touring holes on hellbents? The K2 website says to use a flathead screwdriver but there isn't even a spot to use a flathead on the plugs. I tried getting it off with a butter knife but had no luck. Any ideas?

Ski them for a day at the resort, they will fall out on their own. Problem solved.

Screwdriver up against the middle of the plug, then tap the screwdriver with a hammer.

Shove it up your ass and cough. If that doesn't work, try your vagina.

There's a hole for the screw driver on the base layer side of the ski. If its not there, look harder.

Yeah, I've now gone at it with a flathead screwdriver, like the k2 site suggests, and a chisel.
I'm thinking that it either screws out, pops out or just doesn't come out. There definitely is not a spot to twist with a flathead

When I try twisting the part of the plug on the upside part of the ski, with pliers, the bottom part twists as well. So I'm pretty sure it doesnt screw off.

I tried a chisel on the top part but it seems like the top part of the plug is just bending, so I'm thinking it doesn't pop either.

I just looked at my sons. He has the black and red ones sometime around that year. I do not think they are touring plugs. Two are rivets that hold on the Hellbent name on the tips and on the tail the K2 logo. But if you want them off just ski them hard. He has ripped off one Hellbent and the other is hanging by a rivet.

You're trying to remove rivets that aren't meant to be removed.

These are not the removable touring/skin attachment plugs that exist on the newer models.

    Wow.

can you drill out a bigger hole with a holesaw?

man, if there was ever a time for one of those extra holes threads to pop up in GS, I know most were for binding holes, but maybe there are a few touring holes kicking around???

I have some touring holes I would be willing to part with; full disclosure, the holes are pretty beat up from a season of pounding, plus the holes are pink and wouldn't match your topsheets.

Let me know if these work for you.

Hey man, I have some unwanted rivet holes on my Seth's that I would be willing to trade... they were far too small for the skin I have been trying to put in, but it sounds like they may work well for you. PM me for details.
