    Shiffrin

Not Shriffrin related, but just saw this in the men’s downhill today.

    A MUST SEE TO BELIEVE!

A must see video I can’t find nor post, but a must see.

Guy making a high speed right hand turn over a roll over. Loses balance and gets bucked. Starts to do a 180. Manages a double butter tip press. Lands switch and skis away. At full down Hill speed on downhill skies.

I’m sure it will be on the news or You Tune later.

    Tanner Hall...top that.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Didn’t see her SG run; she looked comfortable on the disco sticks though. Way to go!

She made that look sooooo easy. Beat Vlhova by .52 for an overall margin of .86 seconds. That is pretty big.

Outside the top 3, it wasn't even close.

Racing doesn't do a whole lot for me. But watching her ski really does.

That 2% motivation from the Bronze SG proved lethal to the competition.

MS is skiing amazingly (Well) this month !

    respectfully, I take exception to the claims her skiing is "effortless" ; while I understand that it looks effortless, the effort that she has invested over Many years is something I greatly Respect ;

that she is skiing this well on so relatively little on-snow training is, ,,, inexplicable to me...

. . . an amazing skier and Racer - and I have equal Respect for the person she seems to be !

I am grateful to have been able to follow her Racing career ! unlike any I have been aware of ...
( to have won in five disciplines, and had sustained Excellence over (eight years ? ?? ) )

    amazing ! tj

Uhhhh...The incredible amount of work and training she has put in to achieve this level of "effortlessness" has been widely discussed in this thread. Most of us know how she got there and the result continues to marvel all of us.
We are not taking anything away from her.

Saw that on TV coverage- but did not know the skier's name to find replay video (was getting ready to go ski at the same time).... Was going to start a FIS World Cup near crash (with recovery) thread.... (crashes that end in injury would not be a fun entertaining thread...

Nice nod to her roots that she pulled it off with a superbly stunning SL run.

Her Super G run had her a little over 2 seconds back of the men, who ran the same course. Not too shabby.

Bummer for O'brien. She was up by about .11 going into the last 4-5 gates and then, oops! I think that will giver her a lot of confidence to charge hard for the rest of the season.

I keep seeing/hearing about her fathers death from a home accident a year ago...but not a word anywhere since of what that accident was. Not to be creepy here, but people do learn to avoid mistakes - if that is what it was - from knowing the cause. Anyone care to explain what happened?
