What a freaking season! SL, GS, Overall globes, and passed Stenmark. Unbelievable.

    Skiing doesn’t get more perfect.

    She is now at 340,200

She will pass Mr. Crystal, Hircher, next season.

If it were me, I would call it a season and just head to Andorra to collect my trophies. I doubt Shiffrin will and that’s why she is the greatest.

This - watching Friday’s first GS run, she made it look like practice.

Great skier and human. Very happy for her.

This is getting boring. She needs a new challenge. Start racing SL and GS with the men.

Fantastic weekend of racing for her. Now it is just how high she can raise the bar. Hope she stays injury free and all that goes with her racing talent.

Who knew when this thread was started just over 11 years ago that we'd be here now. Incredible career so far and still in her prime. Now that she doesn't have to "push" for any marks, she can ski carefree, which is when she skis fastest.
    Over/under 120 career wins?

It’s pretty amazing how often this year she has won or podiumed in different disciplines on back to back days.

I think she retires after the next Winter Olympics if she comes away with golds in 2 out of 3 of the GS, SL, and Combined.

She'll be 30, turning 31. I can't really envision her competing when she's 34-35 given her back issues. There won't be much left for her to accomplish unless she suddenly decides she wants to become a speed skier if she can pull that medal haul off.

If she gets ~7-10 wins a season over the next 3 years, she'd be closing in on 110-115. So it's definitely possible but she'll need to stay as dominant as she has been as of late which is a VERY tall task.

Either way, it's been a fucking pleasure watching her from her first win in Are in 2016 to her 87th in 2023.

Mikaela at 26:37 but it’s certainly worth watching the other competitors

the interview at the end is great

She singlehandedly destroyed my weekend 😒
Super tired from getting up at 1 am the last 2 nights.
    She owes me....
Hopefully I will see The Goat at Mammoth this spring to let her know about this serious issue I'm currently dealing with.
The best representation of the United States on display and nobody cares here except a bunch of dentists.

Åre has really good skiing. I worked there for parts of 2 winters, and really wished I was able to ski there more.
The high alpine terrain has so much to offer there, and good accessible touring off the top.

    I have heard good things

my girlfriend is Swedish so I’m hoping to try to use that angle

I have the ski travel itch bad

I’ve lived and skied and worked in CA, CO, and AK - I’ve skied all over the western US and a bit in New England

I want to go to Sweden and Norway, the Alps, and weird places most people don’t go

    Over/under 120 career wins?
All depends on a few things- first she is only 28 now, so 4 or more years should be a minimum for her continued staying on the World Cup touring. But injuries so far have not been as much of her story as some other skiers, but one never knows when a bad crash or plans for a major injury.

Also it may also depend on if and when she wants to get married and consider starting a family and having a kid or more. Not that a kid ends a skiing career, but it can take some time away from the highest intensity training and all even if it is timed for a summer birth...

    you guys are fucking hilarious

I’ll never understand middle aged men (like me) nitpicking young athletes’ lives

none of you - nor I - really know a thing about her

nor do we really know anything about any of our movie music sports heroes

I guess really it does no harm but I just don’t get it

look back at MTT’s post from her first win

that woman is a fkn legend - she is, in my opinion, an actual role model for people

I don’t get into celebrity worship much but I like Mikaela

I dunno - just seems silly for us to blather on about what she should or could or might to

I mean really - you’re speculating about a summer birth?

    get a fucking life

Her own social media posts seem to indicate she loves everything about her life. She seems so happy with her boyfriend, the travel, skiing, and the people around her. We are lucky to watch her in her prime.
