    Incredible!

Just scored tickets to the DH in Andorra. Not really her event obviously but a guy can dream! Only event that lined up with the rest of our itinerary. Anticipating it’ll be the highlight of an awesome trip!

Early tomorrow, Shiffrin races in the GS, and then on Saturday, she races in the slalom -- in Are, Sweden, where she got her first WC win in Dec. 2012.

Over half a second today. So good!

That is probably a GS globe too.

86 wins is just amazing. Stenmark must have been there

Stenmark wasn’t there. He said it would be unfair to the Swedish racers, but said he would be watching and is on record as being a fan.

When Mikela has struggled its been mostly due to boot that the lateral alignment was set up to strong. IE pushing her knee further apart than needed. If you know what your looking for its silly easier to spot and fix by someone like PJ at racestock, but even at the highest levels of USSA/PSIA they do not seem to understand alignment. Just look at Vonn for over a decade she has been set up "soft" meaning her boots need ground to align her knee further out. I just want to make one thing clear, aligning boots is not about going after a "look" but get the skier in position where they can have the most range of motion from. generally it looks better, but it is also faster. For recreational skier properly aligned boots let them ski with more overall control and comfort....but yet the PSIA and USSA do not have alignment knowledge as part of their exams.
Yeah, she's pretty good, but not as great as L3 PSIA.

Sorry. But that other thread made me think of this one. Jfc

Not only did she secure the season GS title, but she also tied Vreni Schneider for the women's record for most GS victories at 20. So she has the record for SL, GS, and overall wins now. FKNA.

From ESPN's article, she was asked to directly address Stenmark during a post-race interview: "No matter what I do, it doesn't ever compare to what you achieved," Shiffrin said into the TV6 camera from the lakeside resort. "Maybe I get the 87th victory, maybe not. But for me, the biggest dream is to be mentioned in the same sentence as you."

All class. I'm so in awe of her.

She is just mindblowing as a skier and as a person. In interviews she seems so perfect that you figure it has to be fake, but then she starts talking about how she is tired because she is on her period and you know she is totally honest and just a great person.

I really want the FWT to give her a wildcard after she retires from racing.

    Right? Talk about ignorance.

USSA/PSIA aren't the ones fitting her in her gear anyway...it's the best minds at Atomic.

Shiffrin’s first chance to break the record comes in a slalom, her best event, on Saturday in Åre, live on Peacock. That’s followed by next week’s season-ending World Cup Finals in Andorra, with one race in each of the four primary disciplines: downhill, super-G, GS and slalom.

It is pretty cool and refreshing in this era of loudmouth self-promoters that she is temperamentally cut from the same cloth as Stenmark.

That was incredible... he should challenge Mikaela to a ski off! Anytime you can get technical advice from someone who doesn't use to / too and your / you're correctly, you have to do it!

The pressure is off her shoulders and is skiing without worry.
Her runs today were just pure skiing. Almost a full second (.92) ahead of 2nd place Wendy Holdner.
