Ski Poles under Right or Left Buttcheek on Chairlift?

so who puts the poles under the ass as the board the lift? Thats how I roll. I notice some wait till they are on the chair and off the ground?

Depends on what kind of lift & how far my head is up my ass as I load the chair. If it's a fixed grip chair & I'm not chatting with someone as I load, I'll often put my poles under as I load the chair. If it's a detachable chair I'll usually wait until I'm airborne to avoid stabbing the people loading the chair behind me.

I put one under each butt cheek, pull my goggles down, then lean forward like superman and pretend to be flying. I also resist all efforts to engage me in conversation.

I drop them both just when the chair gets going, so the liftie will pick em up and make the gapers in the next chair carry my poles.

Hang em from the bar . I have two other old ski buddies that still do this . Just buy new poles and move the grips every couple years. They used to make quality rubber in 1979 ....still good !!!!!

I don't care which side you put them on, as long as the butt cheek they're under isn't mine. And if you can't pull them out without leaning hard into the person next to you, just hold them.

I've never been able to do this without either cutting off circulation to one of my legs or giving myself a cramp, but it looks like I'm the outlier.

I can do it for a couple minutes if I need my hands to do something briefly, but for an entire 10 minute lift ride, no way.

Ha! Cute gaper grips, haven't seen those for years. I probably have a couple pair in the attic too.

You can put your poles under zis side, you can put your poles under zat side, but zey stay out of ze middle here!?

Crack is where it’s at....too uncomfortable to actually sit with poles under a cheek.

That said, I start gently with right hand to left thigh, then I shift my junk, as it pleases me.

Haha , A good design actually never had an issue . I'm not sticking my hand through a strap to hang on to my poles , I get strange looks from kids after hanging my poles on the bar . I guess they stopped making them from complaints about automatic bending machine? If you're not paying attention and go past a mid station they're done LOL

But what about pole baskets in(behind you) or pole baskets out(in front). I've got a couple of homies that do the pole baskets in thing. Doesn't make sense...

Lefty here. Baskets out under the right cheek. Typically board with them staged but I don't ride many fixed grips at the regular hill.
