The speech Jim Jack gave to the competitors in the tent at Alyeska that day or the next after John's death was so freakin heartfelt and inspiring I wish someone would put it up here. I've almost never been as frustrated as I was that day, knowing John was in seriously bad shape and unable to get to him from where I was. I imagine it's a lot like what anyone who loses their skiing partner feels. And it was a look that was on everyone's face.
