Some images over the past couple weeks. The corn is still sweet but melting faster.

Heading to Telluride this Saturday for a week - still worth packing the skis for some higher terrain hike to turns? Looks like the fast melt has the San Miguel and Dolores blown out for fly fishing at the moment, so was thinking I could fill some days finding snow. Suggestions welcome!

I've found some decent chute skiing on July 1st off Silver Mountain (above Alta Lakes) and on July 3rd on Imogene Pass. I'll be around the 8th - 15th with probably two mornings in there to hike for turns if anyone is interested.

Nice! Missed you by a day, wild.

I ended up bringing my sticks (see post before yours) and managed to slog 2 runs on a Silver chute on June 30. Looks like the same one or maybe one chute over, kind of looker's left looking up from the first lake with a little scree gap between the bottom of the chute and the runout.

Didn't have 4x4 to get out to Imogene, but I'll have to plan better next time...

    Nice!

I think I saw your turns...the chute that wasn't terribly far from the car? I went WAY deep on Silver, hiked lookers left toward Palmyra then right as it got steep, I took a lookers right chute all the way up. 2 hours of total hiking on a thing that went almost all the way to the top of the peak. Check my instagram link below for some more pics and vids.

Oh sick! Yeah I took the low hanging fruit you could see top to bottom from the first lake. Like I said, next time...

Looking forward to whatever you shred next week. I may be back out there in late August, otherwise the first week or two in January.

Haha. My plan is to session both those two on Monday morning. May explore the basin behind as well.

Found myself in Lake City, hoping to check out the Alpine Loop. Anybody know the chances of finding any north facing stuff still holding enough snow for a few turns?

    Telluride thread bump!

And its finally snowing in the land of Rasta Stevie...

I'll be skiing around the mountain next week for 6 days straight if anyone is around. Forecast discussion is hinting on a major winter event possible. Sounds good to me.
