    Family Vacation in the Spring?

Trying to avoid another family "beach" vacation so gonna try and suggest something to the fam and see if they jump on board.
Family would consist of 6-8 adults (incl 2 somewhat active grandparents) and 4-6 kids ranging in age from 1-5.
Timing would be in april or may.
Looking for a destination that has a fair share of outdoor activites (hiking, biking, etc) as well as some things for the kids (waterpark, zoo, swimming, etc). Unfortunately skiing is out. Prob somewhere on the warmer side for that time of year.
Thinking someplace like AZ (sedona?) where the weather will be warm, biking/hiking/swimming etc. or maybe somewhere in CA? Maybe near a national park.
Would prob hope to do some kind of vaca rental.
Am i dreaming here trying to find a place that would appease everyone?

That's Desert season son. Where is the Brew Room located? That time of year we usually go to Moab, and Lake Powell. Water is cold but hiking is great. Always wanted to head to the San Juans that time of year too.

Mammoth Lakes is your spot. Skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, possibly Yosemite depending on the how much snow we get, Mono Lake, Bodie (ghost town), and golf if you are into that sort of thing. The nice part is there will be no one here.

Palm Springs might fit the bill. We spent a week there in the fall a couple of years ago with a similarly composed family group and everyone left with a pretty favorable impression of the place.

we're in slc (rest of family is new england). i thought about southern ut (moab/st george and think that could be a possibility but may want to go somewhere we haven't been. lake powell could be a possibility unless the water't gonna be too cold.

only concern here would be weather? what's mid-may typically like that time of year at lake level? (would be a big bonus to be able to ski corn)

Charleston, SC. Weather is perfect and there's plenty to do down there. Spend some time between Charleston and Savannah and you'll fall in love with the place.

Not as much hiking/biking, but lots of history and other things to keep you occupied.

Houseboating on Lake Powell might be fun. Water in May won't be real warm, quick search shows low-mid 60's. Lot's of hiking available but the small kids might get bored.

tahoe area is great in the spring with a snowpack at elevation and warming temps. near lake. old folks like to go to the casinos i've heard and the crowd has not yet arrived overwhelming the lodging.
disneyland is where our spring plans are heading.

Weather in Mammoth is great in May, but we do get storms on occasion, even powder dumps, but not common. You would be three hours from Tahoe for gambling, Death Valley a couple hours away. Great hiking, MTBing depending on snow and elevations.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...
