TR: Novembuary in WV in 6 Pictures
After hearing about all the snow Count Stormula dumped in WV, the better half and I decided to pack up the dogs and the skis and grab a few turns. We limited our schralpage to Timberline, and we were disappointed to miss what seems like it was half the EC crew from this board (and the softer snow) earlier in the week. But we enjoyed chatting with some nice folks on the skin track this morning. We also enjoyed the best ski conditions that either the wife or I have enjoyed this early in the season, regardless of the locale. And, damn, any visit to Davis is always great. What a great town and great local ski vibe.
Dogs enjoyed their hike.
Our first lap involved us kicking the skinner straight up a double-black diamond for a zillion gnar points! We later found the much easier way up.
The skiing was damn fun!
The snow was still really soft! I'm counting this as actual pow turns - it held up well even though it sat for a few days. Thank you, cold weather!
Large beers were consumed!
We may have invented the burgerrito?!?!?! If so, it will be my legacy.
Fin!

Awesome, but a little crowded...
Who'd have thought West Virgina would spawn so much stoke, so early?!

Delightful. Mid-Atlantic deserves some stoke-spotlight. Right on.

The burgerito was just an oblong-shaped hamburger cooked medium-well to well and wrapped in a tortilla with condiments and the cheddar cheese holding it closed. It travels well in a backpack!
It may still be my lasting contribution to the world.

Yep, that's the Ghost out there with us, celebrating his 8th birthday. You can tell he's a little stiff when he wakes up the next morning after a big day, but he's in no mood to quit skiing.
The conditions were actually pretty challenging for the dogs - 40" of unconsolidated cream cheese meant they couldn't stay on top but they couldn't "swim" either. The awkward posthole-ing left them both pretty wiped out, so we left them in the car after our first lap.

I knew we did it wrong down there. Forgot beer and definitely no burgerritos. Looks like you guys had a blast!
