How many pros would you recognize in street clothes?

Local pro was telling some friends at the bar that he only gets recognized in ski towns. Makes enough sense... so, outside of local guys and girls you know or know of, how many pros would you recognize? Snow athletes are usually showing a face half covered with goggles and a helmet and that certainly deters recognition. Let's include racers, bumpers, freestyle... there's probably a list of at least 5 that most riders would recognize, Shaun White, Lindsey Vonn, Johnny Moseley, Bode Miller, who else? One of the first years of the X games I went down with some friends and we were all asked for autographs at some point over the weekend, basically for just being the right age demographic, some of us could barely ride!

I'd recognize Hoji even in street clothes by the halo around his head.

there's the rub... most skiers think they're better than the ones claiming to be "pro". I know I am I think the only guys who get the celeb treatment are the teen idol park ratters who are on the Dew tour and X games.

This is me stalking Lindsey Vonn in Portillo! Janet Mansuco was also there and I actually spoke to her but didn't ask for her autograph.
Linsday is in street clothes behind the window trying to act coy an pretend not to notice me.
I shared the elevator with her a few hours later and you could cut the sexual tension in the air with a knife. I think it caused her to examine her relationship with her husband and get a divorce.

I can't recognize anybody ever; it's all the black spots and weird vision stuff I get.

    No joke.

^ I'm pretty sure I have a genetic recognition disability. It's embarrassing, I fail to recognize relatives sometimes.

But I recognized Johnny Moseley at Wolf Creek once. At least I think it was him.

Bet I could get Plake. Is McLean a 'pro'?

I have also stalked Davenport in Portillo and Greg Hill in Revelstoke.
In Santiago two years ago I gave Oakley White-Allen a cig when he bummed one from me and said hi to Mark Abma. Dana was there but was very aloof and wouldn't make eye-contact with me.
Sverre smiled when I said I liked his hat as he was getting into the min-bus.

Later PNWBrit and I were in bar and the whole Us Swatch team were walking down the street and stopped to look into the bar, the were all pretty much dressed the same, skinny jeans, skate shoes and hipster toques although ABma had on a leather cowboy hat and was going through his Hobbit phase and had twin braided chin droppers with beads attached. The most amazing thing was the size of them....they were all fairly short, slim built and looked almost exactly the same. It was like the dwarf scene from the Lord of The rings.

I can understand not recognizing some relatives. But I think my dysfunction is more generic: I can be looking right at someone I know and not recognize them. And are they offended? Sheesh.
