Anyone tried to get to Highland Lakes off Hwy 4? Any beta, rumors, wild guesses about the condition of the road?

Aaron rode his new E gravel bike to Hiram Meadow last week. Probably clear all the way in now.

Thanks, Mike, I was thinking about summer waxing my skis, but I'll have to get out to Highlands in the next couple of days. Have you found yourself an RV yet?

Dodge Ridge will be into their 70th season this year.

They're going big and replacing the mighty Chair 6. This lovely Riblet has been in service since 1968. DR got the decommissioned Cold Springs lift from Sun Valley, ID and is installing it in a new alignment closer to the base lodge for easier access. I know a few of you beaters learned to ski on Chair 6.

THIS, my friends is what it's all about - making it easier for folks to learn to ski.

I hate using only numbers for chair names. Is this the chair formerly known as Gold chair?

I don’t know. I’ve only ever known them as numbered. It’s the baby chair off to the left if you’re looking up from the new lodge. The one all the beginners had to hike to.

it was a poma lift when I started skiing there. Good of them to realize how big that climb is for beginners.

I know the plan is to eventually replace Chairs 1 and 2 with one chair on a better alignment and easier access to the loading area.

and the rope tow has been in service since 1950 - if you look in the motor room you’ll see a Model T Ford up on blocks running it - the buggy wheels are old VW hubs

A Model T? Doubt Henry expected that to run 100 years later. DR should announce upgraded equipment and swap in a Model A

We had the two rope tows, Bronze Chair, Silver Chair, and Gold (Gold Nugget?) Chair. You worked your way up.

Prospector was a great name. And Bolder Canyon was a great addition.

Why go away from inspiring names? I don’t get it.
