Is it correct that the slope that slid was ~25 degrees?

    Central California

DR today with OB, Krystal Kartwright and Holy Mazurkewicz. I got the day off so I got to play instead of work.

Best day of the season so far.

Saw GiBo at lunch but we never seem to get to make turns together. I hope you had fun out 8. We did.

It was off the charts, man! Best DR day ever.

I know, we just need to meet at a spot next time and make it happen! My buddy wanted to meet the legendary Telemike. You've hooked him up a couple of times and he wanted to thank you personally. I think he's starting to think I made you up.

I ended up in a goddamned culvert at the bottom of 8! Just skiers left of where Boulder Over merges with Amazing Grace. It was marked and I went to the left of the marker, but the marker was about 3 feet short of the hole. Was a good 5-6 feet deep and I was upside down. Took me about a half hour to get out. Then I was freaking spent.

Hey, I skied into it and it was marked. I probably shouldn't have cut so close. Props to patrol for getting 8 spinning!

One thing that looked gnarly was the snow gorge the creek created on Sunrise. I was sure I was going to see someone in that thing at some point. It must have been 10 feet deep or more.

Lots of fresh at Bear Valley today, and not too many people (somewhat surprisingly). Snow was pretty dense: even Tiggers was barely steep enough for nice turns. Lots of deep stuff on the steep parts of the frontside, however. There was some bombing on grizzly and looks like they have the lift mostly dug out, but the word seems to be that more avy control is needed before it opens. Not sure if it will open tomorrow, but seems certain to be open before the weekend, it seems.

Skied Bear Valley today after it had been closed for two days. Nice cold powder all around. No Grizzly today - may get open tomorrow, which would be fantastic.

Was planning on BV on Sunday but feel as though Griz would likely be a big stretch to open. For those Central CA folks and Mike in particular, DR seems to have everything running in comparison. Never skied DR, normal and able to expect to have everything open with this type of weather? Thanks in advance

We will have it all open at DR on Sunday. I've got 1 more free ticket voucher. PM me your name if you want it.

Griz just opened for the first time last Saturday. I bet they get some of it open on Sunday.

Thanks again for the offer. Ended up at BV. Griz opened by 930, I would describe the bottom 1/3 as teeth rattling. The village side was quite fun though.

We skied BV on 2/4. Grizz opened at 12. Was ok in sections, but anywhere it got cold, it was grabby. The backside was creamy goodness in Tiggers and Oopla.

Hope this rain doesn't do too much damage.

Grizzly bowl was open today. Thin crust at the top was ok. Thick rain crust in the middle third was really annoying. The bottom was corn snow over bulletproof crust and actually fun. Hopefully the snow next week will freshen things up.

Rode a chair with lurker Joe today. Spotted him again out and about. Looking forward to a good Sonora Pass season.
