Had no issues with smoke at all near the southern parts or the lake. Left yesterday evening though.

Another guy here offered his house in SV for $7,000 for 5 nights. Sorry but no.

A friend rented me his house in TD for $700.

Sorry, but $7K for 5 nights?....

Hey Gents. I'm starting to put the planning into my August/September shredding trip. Has anyone seen Conness, Dunderberg, or Shasta recently? Any beta would be appreciated.

    Cheers!

Dunderberg was bare a week ago. I'm 99.9% sure Conness would be the same. There was a tiny patch near the summit of Mammoth Mammoth Ski Area.

Shasta would be your best bet, but even then...

So here's a bit of good news: whatever douchebag buys this place will be skiing Northstar. That means they'll be far away from most of us, and might tip the Dook.

(Of course, it's possible that they'd sell and move to Squaw after KSL renovates.)

Sprinkling at the top of kingsbury right now. Woke up at 2am and the entire house was hazy from smoke due to the American fire and smelled like campfire.

WTF?!?!?! A join date of August 2013. Only 3 posts to your credit. And you have the nerve to hit us up for secret patch skiing stash info? The ballsy gall of it all!

Used to be a time when the TGR massive would haze the f@#k outta somebody like you (or, at the very least, ask for naked pix of your girlfriend/wife/sister).

Not exactly sure which Dunderberg you were scoping out, but I just skied there Wed/Thurs of last week and there was plenty of snow. Granted, it was a sweet mixture of breakable crust, ice, slush, Pam Anderson-sized sun cups, and rotten corn, but it was still skiable (26 turns was the longest run I scored over my two-day stretch).

Thanks for the Beta, Dookie. You're right. I was expecting far worse in the hazing department. Oh well, my loss.

Anyone know anything about Lake Tahoe pizza Co burning last night?? Daughter works there, and saw a FB status update to that effect, but can't find out more info. There is caution tape around the front door.

South Lake Tahoe recreators, fill this survey out especially if you think we need better recreation facilities (like Truckee) and a bike park (which we already raise all the money to build, and started planning the same time as Truckee, but have yet to break ground due to red tape) http://limesurvey.migwebtech.com/ind...ref_map=%5B%5D

How bad is the smoke and ash up near Truckee? Was thinking about mountain biking North Star tomorrow, should I pull the plug?

I'm in south shore but I think the greater Tahoe area is screwed until the wind changes significantly...and even then, with two major fires burning, good luck. I'd stay northwest of Auburn if you have the choice.

No ash, but I don't think your lungs would thank you. When it was just the American fire, things were clear in the morning until the smoke blew in around 1-2pm. With the addition of the Rim fire, it's been smoky 24/7.

Have a tri scheduled for Sunday in SLT, fairly certain it is going to be cancelled. The shorter race on Saturday was, so we will see. Based on the pics above, definitely not looking like conditions to swim/bike/run in...
