Or cathedral shaped. But you could certainly have an angel-shaped line.

But, to resolve the ambiguity, I think UCL and I will just have to hit your suggested line next weekend. Then we'll have it covered

Was good yesterday. Gets crust toward the bottom and on anything not N facing, but it's worth it up top.

Probably a couple concussions, but luckily everybody was walking and talking and not in too bad of shape, considering.

Wintery snow was still to be found, exactly where you'd expect.

First time out with Thudder. Good partner -- safe, fit, etc, kicked my ass on the up, won't hesitate to head out with him again.

    Stay safe everybody.
Thanks for the good words, MrSmith. It was a pleasure touring with you. I hope we can do it again in the future.

JAREDS, sorry you couldn't make it. Hopefully we can make something happen later this winter.

Stop and get some goods in Great Basin! Also hit up Terminal Cancer while you are on your way back! Drive all over Nevada. DO IT. DO IT!

meter-man, we didn't really peek way over on that side of the mountain, but in general coverage on the lower third of the mountain is thinnnn. However, the creekbed is holding enough snow to ski exciting soft pillows to get out without too much pine needles in your teeth. I ripped a hole in my expensive fancy pants (MHW DryQ elite) skiing between brush and branches on the exit, but I did also ski all the way to the road.

Pretty dang good weekend in Tahoe if you ask me!
You were the one trying to convince me to switch my crust and crud busting Wren+Duke for a ultra light dyna fiddle set up. Guess you want to see me flounder. Should not be an issue, as I have found the back seat this season.

    Smile Good times... For some...

MrSmith - We rolled through right after the collision. Hell of a way to spend your Sunday morning...

I think you guys were the pair of skiers that we ended up leap frogging with on the way down Castle and back to the road. We were the two splitters that passed by while regaining the ridge for the ride out...

Anyway, definitely some good snow to be found up there... Just had to deal with some nasty wind on the ridges and a few icy traverses. Good time to have ski crampons... Which were back at the car. Had plenty of practice on technique this weekend... But the way down was always worth it.

Schralp won't try my bro 183 fats after I stated you have to ski them properly to turn.

Hm, not sure that was us, as I can't recall seeing any splitboards. Or maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention.

Red Lake Peak on Sunday: Skied down to Crater Lake in wind buff and breakable crust through the trees. Not too enjoyable, and very hooky. On the skin back up I witnessed a group set off a wind slab (pic in video). Then skied the gully down to the car. The gully was the best part of the day. Played around with my digital camera for this footage.
