Left coaster chiming in... 2-3 feet of fresh should never be wasted. As soon as those winds go down a notch, you folks better be bringing the stoke. When the people are suffering, it's skiers and riders who provide a few rays of happiness - turning nasty storms into sweet lemonade.

Vibes dude... You prolly already did, but just stick them in your bong.
Vibes to those on the coast and NYC... Looks like Sandy did some serious damage. Hoping EW, SS, JGB, ML, ISBD, UNM and all are good.Screw the net, Surf the backcountry!

EW & SS were hunkered down in their semi dark basement , no power, cell phone fading listening to trees crash around the neighborhood at 7:30, ML aliveand still reporting at 10:45.
Sure glad it sped up and avoided pounding us with rain and heavy winds. Vibes to all affected.
Butta, if you need a hand raking those leaves, reach out.www.apriliaforum.com

^^^Damn. That sucks. Vibes to all in the Big Apple.
Thinking of bailing on my WV adventure. It's a lot of risk trying to get down there in these conditions.
Buttah, WTF man?

9" of new snow here at my house in North Cackalacky. 2 North Carolina mountains are opening tomorrow, Sugar and Cataloochee. Hopefully we get enough so I can avoid the lifts.

Hahaha . . . good to see you still have a sense of humor bitter buttah. Did someone wake you up too early from your summer slumber? Don't hurt yourself raking.
That report you posted Rog is so tempting but I am sitting this one out and holding on to my saved time away from the homefront for pow closer to home. Out on this one.
I do hope someone gets after it.The Passion is in the Risk

Get after it, man! Pics or it didn't happen.
Buttah, drink some coconut water, and remember to rake one leaf at a time. No point in blowing out your back before ski season trying to lift two leaves at once.
So, now I have the rest of the week off and am going to be around here... North Conway MTB trip?
Paging Rog...

ya, called my ex down there the other day and told her i was thinking of coming down. her reply, "sweet, can you bring my desk?"
would be fun down there fer sure, especially where chipper grooms for getting around easier. interested in hearing how that deep is gonna ski given h2o content, wind crusts, and the unsettled nature of it.
the gal and i ended up doing a coastal storm chase yesterday which ended at a powerless wood heated friends house where waaaaaay too many bottles of wine were downed making today a fine excuse for staying in the boxers all day kinda day. maybe a dog walk. oh the motivation
crank! will probably be surfing thursday/friday/saturday, but sunday could work for me for an n-con ride. trails might be pretty leaf fucked tho. maybe something closer? bear brook?

I guess the NYC guys caught it worse than we did over in the burbs. Other than some crazy wind here that knocked down a few large oaks and hickories, there was no flooding, or any damage for that matter. Now ill get some good cooking wood for future batches of bacon, talk about locally sourced! Vibes to all, hope none were affect by any damage. Have fun and be safe with those saws.
