Got a hall pass for tomorrow and was thinking of heading to MRG anyone know how the upper mountain is skiing?
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

    Hope that helped!
Got a beat to hell pair of used Heads for the Mrs tuned there and they came out looking brand fucking new. +1 on Totem Pole for a base grind. Bring a tall boy.

Well then, I stand corrected. Will give the totem pole a shot next time I need a tune. Was strongly thinking about making the drive down there just for the tune, my sticks need it for all the ice I've been skiin (although hopefully not for much longer!)

Southern, VT on the other hand has not fared so well. I don't want to drag the stoke down, but I know there are some folks looking to head up to the Magic area this weekend. Want to give some insight into what they might find. I woke up to 4 inches of new at my house in Chester. Precip had stopped for the moment. By the time I got the kid off to day care and headed for the mtn, the not so good precip had started to come down in buckets. By the time I made the 20 min trip to the mtn i found the base to have about 4 inches of glop and a torrential down pour. Decided not to skin. Here is a glimpse from the bottom....

Really hoping that this turns back to flakes and we get the base we need!
Thanks for the report and pics. Saved me from driving up the hill this am.

Looks like the rush of warm air is heading north. I was hoping that Jay would stay all snow, but that appears to be unlikely now.

Fat and rockered definitely helped in the new 4+" of wet/heavy snow this morning. High winds kept the lifts limited to the lower mountain and by the time we 'warmed up' it was raining, so we bailed on skinning to the summit.

Does anyone know what the record is? I honestly didn't think Mansfield was capable of that kind of number.

    ^^^

Must have been the same cloud that rolled thru here in the valley a little over an hour ago, had to have dropped close to a 1/2 in 30-40 minutes.

its interesting that today the winds on Mansfield are forecast (and actually appear) to be exceeding MTW's winds. that doesnt happen every day.

wouldn't be surprised at all. there's some MEAN looking weather rolling overhead... and the obs on the nose certainly are recording as much.

i hope the downsloping winds in jericho and cambridge stay in check. that stuff can get dangerous.
