Brands that Consistently Deliver
I received a wool vest from Filson today via UPS and was once again blown away upon inspection by the quality and craftsmanship that goes into their product. My ranch jacket is a Filson and I beat the living shit out of it on a regular basis once the weather gets cold--I've done everything from buck hay and fix barbwire fencing in sideways snow storms and mud to use it for carrying dirty, newborn lambs in it. It has only gotten better with wear and I love just putting it on.
I am trying to think of other brands--not products--that I can order with confidence, sight-unseen. I'd say Ford but I've never owned a Ford car, just several trucks. Certainly Benelli, Briggs & Stratton and Black Diamond all come to mind. Maybe Mac (never had a bad experience), Toyo, and Hestra?
What really intrigues me is from a business perspective--the quality control during material procurement, manufacturing and inspection must be mind blowing and very, very expensive.
What other brands come to mind? Any insights into their controls and processes?"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring."

I've been really happy with Sorel boots as long as I can remember.... Had them growing up and picked up a brand new pair last year for slogging around in the winter time. The have several tiers of product though... Their high end product line up definitely gets a +1 from me.

Fig Newtons... I've loved them ever since I can remember and now my 2 yr old sons literally beg like dogs for those things.

Used to think that way about Hestra but last year I bought a pair of Hestra gloves andwas very disappointed in them.
Finger liners were not sewn in so when your hands got even a little bit sweaty, the liners would pull out when you withdrew your hand and you couldn't get your hand back in without spending 5 minutes poking the finger sleeves back into the glove. Bad design and lack of thought....won't buy Hestra again as a result. They were undexterous as fuck.TGR Bureau Chief, Greenwater, WA

I'll get some shit for this, but here I go:
Louis Vuitton. Yes, Mrs. Rontele works for them, but I am constantly amazed at the quality of their product. I have a wallet that I've beaten to shit for seven years that still looks brand new, some really nice loafers (OldLarry?) and a belt.
Agreed with Rev on the Filson front
Wolverine boots
Made and Crafted Levi's jeans (made in the USA)
The old arc teryx stuff that was made in Canada
Cartier watches (amazing warranty)

Norrona ski jackets
