    WTB full-tilt or raichle tongues

i am trying to stiffen up an old pair of mega-rides, wanted to get some replacement tongues.

    something like http://fulltiltboots.com/ski-boot-part/tongue-6-white
or anything else that would work with the mega-rides and stiffen them up.

    but not sixty bucks please!

    boots are size 24

    thanks all-

Having done this and other mods to my MR's several years ago the only thing I can say to you is that stiffer tongues won't really give you that much improvement. The shell material in that boot is sooooooo soft. You'll put a bunch of energy in the project for a 'meh' result.

i know i should know better, but....
i have a set of powerwraps that fit in the shells, helping to stiffen up too.
i am a flyweight, and like softer boots for backcountry pow.
never gonna ride these boots inbounds or on hard snow.

    still a straight fail?

    thanks for your honesty though,
sometimes i wonder if i just want to chase a rainbow

I took mine out for the first time on a daylong tour in the spring. First time I'd had them on in a while as I'm not a huge touring dude. They have drive plates, stiff flexon tongues, booster straps. The walk up was fine, the ski down sucked balls (boot wise). Granted, I'm accustomed to much stiffer alpine boots, but I felt like I had zero support front to back or laterally. I'm shopping for something else.

I have done this with the older Laser to good effect, don't know about the MR.

In any event, I have what you want. For a reasonable price.

    Shoot me a PM
