    FS: AK King Salmon ski

AK King Salmon ski....a blast from the past....180 cms, 125-94-115.
A livelier and less planky Volkl Mantra.
Bought from hway2 and originally mtd with Comforts, now with Rossi Axial 2 120 (DIN 12) and set for a 295mm BSL.
Skis are in good shape, bases and edges were tuned and are great.
Can send pics to your direct email.....$ 225 shipped/OBO

Love this ski but don't know I'd describe them as "A livelier and less planky Volkl Mantra." The Mantra was softer and turnier IMO, these are stiffer and less likely to be overpowered. Maybe that's what you mean, dunno.

A great ski, still in my regular rotation.

+1 to Danno's description. My AK KS have a stiffer tail, a higher speed limit and are better in firm conditions than my 185 Mantras. (I like the KS much more so I sold the Mantras.) Similar swing weight and effective radius. Bomber construction, toughest bases I've ever seen, really great all-rounder. All KS are 180cm but they ski longer than 180, i.e., they ski bigger than the 185cm Mantras, but are nonetheless capable of quick short turns. I toured on my KS with Dynafits for 3 spring touring seasons. Now they are mounted with DH bindings and get at least 15 days a season. Definitely on my short list of favorite skis of all time.

certainly more comparable to an Explosiv, but a bit poppy-er, easier to ski and shorter radius. Really the update to the explosiv that the Mantra should have been.

    I loved my KS.

I also ride the AK KS as my daily resort ski. Looking to add something new to the quiver for softer days, more time in the trees, etc.

looking at Faction Prodigy and the new 4FRNT Cody.

    any opinions?
