How would you feel about a ski bindings thread?

Skis aren’t skis without your binders. How would you feel about a binding thread? I've collected random sites and info on bindings that i'll just post up here. Yes I don’t have a bagillion posts, but I figured I can post up all the information I’ve gained from searching for/dealing with ski bindings. I want to see people interact with this and post up reviews, usefull tips, tricks for mounting, weights, success stories, horror stories and anything else helpful for those looking to buy ski bindings.

NOTE! Everything you read here is meant to be a guide. If you injure yourself because you or someone tuned your DIN wrong or your bindings broke, we are not responsible for that failure.

If you have no idea what ski bindings are, then you might look into a different hobby… Well actually read this first. A good tutorial to the parts and pieces of a ski binding and what to look for. If you have questions, a ski shop is your best bet for answers, otherwise I’ve read quite a few helpful guides on tgr.

For you new kids, you want to be in the middle of your DIN range, and generally you never want to be at the max/min and best to not ride on 1 to 2 settings away from your max/min DIN settings. If you keep popping out for some reason and you’ve adjusted your DIN, check the forward pressure and be sure they are correct.

Some (but not all) ski binding companies:

    Atomic

    Black Diamond/Fritschi

    Head

    Karhu

    Linken

    Look

    Marker

    Rossignol

    Rottefella

    Salomon

    Tyrolia

    4FRNT

    G3

Great place to see a few of the well know models of ski bindings and information all laid out in front of you:

Website for a base DIN settings. A little conservative on the ratings in my opinion, but a great place to start. Good for “marker and salomon” bindings, but is useful for all bindings.

Lastly for those looking to do hiking or want to know the exact weight of their bindings, here are a few weights to consider:

    Rossignol FKS 180 XXL- 5lbs 6 oz, DIN 8-18

    Marker Griffon- 4lbs 3 oz, DIN 4-13

    Marker Griffon Schizo- 4lbs 12oz, DIN 4-13

    Marker Jester- 2006g, DIN 6-16

Marker Jester Pro- 2048g, DIN 8-18

    Marker Squire- 1540g, DIN 3-11

    Marker Baron- 2480g, DIN 4-13

    Marker Duke- 2630g, DIN 6-16, Review: http://www.tetongravity.com/reviews/...ew71htm-71.htm

    Marker F12 Touring- 3lbs 14oz, DIN Max 12

    Salomon STH 16 Driver- 5lb 1oz, DIN 6-16

    Look Pivot 18- DIN 10-18

    G3 Onyx- http://www.tetongravity.com/reviews/...ew71htm-71.htm

Black Diamond Fritschi Diamir- 4lb 13oz, DIN 4-12

There already is a Salomon binding thread. No need for another one.

This isn't Newschoolers or Epic Ski. The "what binding" thread rarely pops up, and when it does the beatings commence....JONG!

What's wrong with Marshall's old thread? 7 years old, but so are the best binding designs...

Time for an English lesson. This thread will make you indignant. The economy will make you indigent and pessimistic--take it to the Padded Room. BTW that binding review site is nothing but advertising. Solly Z12Ti's are durable? Bull. The only thing keeping this thread going is summer.
