I heard someone or a duo was looking to bust it. It seems like last year when going car to car was considered burly. That time is ridiculous.
I can almost make a Glory lap take that long.

I'm laying in a tent at lupine meadows right now. Maybe I'll give it a go. In other news, its so smoky here you can barely see the grand from the airport.

He's an aerobic freak, won Western States 100M run in 2011, won the Mont Blanc ultra, dominated in the past several years ski mountaineering competitions (yeah, there are such things). We have some common friends. Word is that he is a really good guy.

Sick video from two weeks ago - looks like the time then was 3:23. Guess he improved on it a little:

how exposed is that really at ~1:50 in the video? i really want to do this unroped and i know it's possible but haven't looked into it too much. is the climbing he did in that video the most technical that route gets?

Awesome to watch. I climbed it via Exum as a "day" hike and it took 11 hours car to car. I was belaying a friend on the golden staircase and a couple guys walked by and said "hi". I was so amazed, and now this. I am such a pussy.

i would have third degree burns if i did it without a shirt. i ran down the middle like that in the middle of an electric storm in 95. sky was orange and pink, hail was falling, thunder sounded like the sky was ripping open and i hauled ass down to the car. incredible. i loved running down mountains. half out of control from momentum, fearless rhythm finding the right steps to not snap a leg like a twig or fall a hundred feet.

Cletus: Duly noted.

The comments on that post about Killian's record not being legit because he used shortcuts are stupid, it's a mountain climbing record, you should be able to use whatever route you want. (If you can call a trail shortcut at the bottom a different route)
