    Should I feel guilty?

Did you ASK the salmon how it felt about being eaten by you? Was it wild or farm raised? Was it killed in a humane way?

well I didnt get any and its all about me

had a good tasty EASY to do salmon recipe lately

slab of salmon, slather with pesto sauce, wrap in a couple of layers of philo pastry from the dairy case, bake (the barbacue works) at 350 in a piece of tin foil and you look like a fucking gourmet cook

With all the vitamin D you'll get from that bad ass fish you should certainly feel happy, guilt could be secondary. Unless of course it was a farmed fish, then its most likely just guilt.

I've eaten at least that much today. I've been smoking fish all day. So good. Plus that Copper River fish we had last night.

There's some packaged smoked salmon in the fridge. Should I eat it?

Wild caught Alaskan sockeye. When I asked at the store if it had been humanely killed the lady assured me the fishermen ask every fish whether they want to die now, quickly, or suffer and starve for weeks before being scooped up and having their guts ripped out by a bear before they get the chance to spawn. The fish that end up in the store are the ones that elect for the quick and painless route, the rest are thrown back.

Coated with olive oil, sprinkled with seasoning salt and a little Old Bay then baked for 20 min @ 350. Usually only bake for 15 min but this was a thick piece.

I like the idea of salmon + pesto, but not sure I'd be hip to the pastry coating. XXX-er - is it a really thin pastry?

I'm thinking I need a pint of Ben & Jerry's "Americone Dream" or "Karamel Sutra" for dessert.

Yeah Pyhlo is real thin, if you have ever had baclava that greek pastry with nuts n honey that was pylo pastry

The thing IS you can very simply look like a gourmet cook on this salmon dish with 3 simple ready made things you buy in any supermarket,

I drank wine while watching the guy who was cooking, it looked pretty simple, buddy did 3 or 4 wraps of pyhlo on the fillet slathered in pesto from a jar, into the barbacue in some foil cuz it was fucking hot to be using the oven ... the salmon turned out very moist & very tasty

    POTW.

This thread has me going now. Seeing as I have nearly an unlimited supply, gonna spend tomorrow cutting up some cedar planks.

I've watched bears eat more than that and they did not look the least bit guilty.

soak cedar plank for as long as possible, mix half and half soy sauce & maple syrup & simmer until it's like honey. Cool it & then put half on sockeye or coho fillet for about an hour before you are ready to cook it. Turn on bbq and put marinated filet on plank skin side down. Cook until salmon flakes with a fork, brushing on more of the "honey" during the bbq process. Salmon will be incredibly moist and delicious.

You should stick to the Haagen Dasz and leave the salmon to me.

What you should feel guilty about is the fact that I already know that the Mrs. and I are going out for mexican eats tonight and now I want salmon instead.

I paid $30 for four wild king steaks last week. Felt guilty about that. Then I ate them and felt much better.

What did a pound of sockeye go for? I think the king was $12.50.
