    Scott Genius?????

Anyone have any experience with the Scott Genius line of bikes? I have a good buddy who works for Scott and is ready to unload his for a good price. I just don't know anything about them other than what I have read, which seems like a mixed bag, with more good than bad. The bad being ergonomics for some riders. I am not too worried about the components since I can upgrade those as I want, more concerned with the Scott shock, and the frame in general

frame is fine, shock takes more time than others to fine tune, and is basically non fixable at home. I would jump in if the price feels right

Is it the regular or LT frame version?

Good thing on them is frames are pretty light and the bike climbs really well. Descending capability is ok but it doesn't particulaty excell at it. As you said key is that the geometry fits your anatomy, definitely try before you buy.

I got the carbon frame with 150 mm travel frt. and rear and the bike only weights about 23 lbs, making it pretty enjoyable upward. For my needs a perfect all mountain setup, I don't ride overly aggressive though fwiw.
