Lap top sound suddenly gone to crap, lil help

My work laptop suddenly sounds hoorible.
Whether through the speakers on my docking station at my desk or its crappy little speaker on its own, the sound is garbled and fuzzy.
    any way to fix this?
It was never great but was always good enough for Spotify in the office and videos & such.

This happened to my old laptop a while back. Apparently there was some update that screwed up the audio drivers. Download and re-installing those. It can't hurt.
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.
