    Alabma Shakes

I heard Alabama Shakes for the first time the other day...HOLY FUCK are they good. (I know I'm woefully behind the times and they're on everyone's hot list):

Props for bringing a sound back that needs to be around!
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

I've been listening to these guys for three or four months and, with Brandt as my witness, had no idea that was a woman until yesterday. And this is after listening to some of the lyrics and being like, Huh, kind of cool the guy is singing from a woman's perspective. It's possible to overthink these things.

    Partial to this one:

Saw them in Richmond last Saturday. Incredible show. She belts it out like nobody I've seen in a while. Less than a year ago they were playing dive bars, and their enthusiasm for their success shows. They didn't want to leave the stage.

Typically at the request of my daughter, I've been listening to their album straight through at least once a day. As a serial music shuffler, that's a rarity for me.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Saw them on Later... with Jools Holland (holy shit that show's good! Saw Glen Campbell do the Foo Fighters 'Time Like These" on there. WTF?!) My 14 yo and I were blown away. Went out and bought the CD. Brittany Howard is amazing.
