Thumbs up PNW Maggots - ASS Tour (Alpental Summer Solstice) roll call & 2011 photo TR

That's right folks, the ASS tour rolls again, June 20th at Alpental (provided the weather is clear).
While a rain date hasn't been selected, pushing back to the next clear day has been discussed.
Tour to the top of 2 and enjoy the sunset with other PNW mags and non-mags…
Then, ski Nash corn in the twilight.

Meet at the lower lot by the bridge 5:00 ~ 5:30pm.
Don't forget to bring tasty beverages and any other fun-D-mentals'.
Don't forget your headlamp(s) and prepare to get home late.

Snow is holding up well at this point, skiing should be great.

Some images from last years inaugural event:

Lot's of company on the up

Red mountain also came out for the event

What you are seeing here is Mofro making a lap while the keg chills. The people you see to the right started the ascent ahead of him.

    Said keg

    Nearing the top

The home of the padded seats

    Dogs are welcome too...

Mt Rainier also graced us with her presence

A great crew, more than qualified for the task at hand

    The light was breathtaking

Dropping into Nash in the twilight, corny goodness

    The skiing was sublime

Last year there was a short down climb

The outdoor music was left on at the plaza, Jethro Tull, bungle in the Jungle was playing as we reached the bottom.

    Can't wait!

Up all day and not a single response? It must be summer.

I'll do what I can to get the evening off family duty in order to be there.

Yeah, I've been trying to decide how to respond. I'd love to make it if I can. Gonna be tough to get there by 17:00 tho. Anybody else coming from the north (Everett/Lynnwood) who wants to ride the carpool lane with me?

The 5:00~5:30 arrival time is flexible.
Showing up later just means you'll have last traffic on the up and you won't get to the top as early.
Last year we hung out at the top until about 9:30 before dropping into Nash.

If I am in town I will make it. If the weather is like the pics last year it will be hard to beat

I am coming from Bellingham if anyone wants a ride down (or drive, my car even, on the way home, so I don't have to...) prolly leave BHAM at 1-2, (when I get off work) so I might be a little later than 5...

Or if someone wants to drive from Redmond, and deposit me at my bros house after.. that would be good, too...

I will bring some sort of goodies

Given good weather I'll be there, maybe with the Mrs, maybe the dog as well.

Thanks for the heads up FA. I am going to try and make it. Would be my first time on a split in a couple years so the uphill is going to be slow going. I will probably start heading up around 4-4:30-ish if I make it. Knees aren't 100% but I think I'll be able to handle it.

    Regarding weather.
As we get closer to the date and we have some idea of what it's going to be like up here, keep an eye on this thread for updates.
If it's raining, there isn't much point to it.

I edited my post to delete the reference to that other place.

Chainsaw Willie is injured, won't be spring touring this year.

    Thank you.

Bummer, I hadn't heard that CW had injured himself.
D00d, if you are watching this thread, I hope you heal up well and quick.

Not sure that they have kegs the size that Mofro is thinking of, OTOH, that would level the playing field some

You guys should put a keyed lockout on the stop button. They cost about $50.00
