The Great Gatsby
Not quite sure what to think of this yet - some cool scenes in the trailer that came out yesterday, but there looks to be a lot of CGI rendering and an emphasis on action over storytelling. Plus it will be in 3D, which seems more unnecessary than usual here.

Pretty cool trailer, a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. I don't really get the need for 3D but what the heck.

If you loved Moulin Rouge and Strictly Ballroom, there's a good chance you'll enjoy The Great Gatsby - same director.
My general impression is that I'd rather get a beating.

If Kevin Costner isnt the worst actor on the planet, Toby Maquire is.

They already made this into a movie in '74 with Robert Redford, I remember watching it in English class after reading the book. I think it was pretty good.

Flop.
Hope it takes down the studio and puts the kiss of death on Luhrmann's career.

They should've set it in 2005 Hamptons, if they wanted to do something new.

This is about the book but F Scott said to woman he somewhat modeled Daisy on “which bitch do you think you are” and the woman after his death reading their letters said “Goodness, what a self centered little ass I was”. And this should pair with the book every time it’s taught
